Tanning pale skin?

My skin is very pale and tends to burn and freckle. Whats the best way to tan it it the sunny weather im in at the moment

Tanning pale skin?
I am very pale too, and it is hard to get a good tan, but if you have the patience, then here's what you do:

Prior to being out in the sun go to a tanning salon (find one that is very clean and the people are knowledgeable). When you first start out, go for around 5 minutes (it may not seem like a lot, but you have to BUILD your tan, we aren't the lucky ones that can walk in white and walk out looking like they were on the beach!). Every time you go increase your time by about 2-3 minutes or so (depending on how your skin reacts) You may also want to get a bronzing lotion (NEVER use a tingle with your skin!!!) It will take time, but you can get a nice base and then tanning in the sun won't be as hard on you
Reply:If you do not tan well in the regular sun, you most likely won't in a tanning bed. Plus, you are putting yourself at risk for skin cancer. I have used Jergens Natural Glow lotion. It gave more of a tan look.
Reply:The best kind of tan, no matter what your skin type, is a safe tan, sorry to say.

Take it from someone who is also very fair skinned, and who loves to sit and sunbathe like a lizard.

I prefer L'Oréal Sublime Glow, for fair skin tones - it feels nice and gradually darkens skin very evenly, without the "fake" look. You can probably find it in your drugstore. :)
Reply:Don't.............. You are better off using sunscreen.

Your skin will look better as you age. Tanning turns your skin into leather like condition.

Embrace your beauty and work on your confidence.
Reply:fake tan......or little bursts of sunlight at a time, gradually increasing.... but remember the risk of skin cancer
Reply:Why tan? There's nothing wrong with your natural skin color.
Reply:I used to work in high end cosmetics ... believe me, you should cherish your fair skin!

If you want the tan look, use a gradual self tanner with an SPF of 15 or better, or try an air brush tan (NOT the tanning bed) ...

Tanning with UV or natural sun causes premature aging of the skin. FYI, cigarettes ALSO age skin as well ...
Reply:your skin sounds a lot like mine! But no matter how much time i spend in the sun i never really got as tanned as i'd like to, i'd just burn and get a bunch more freckles! Try a tanning bed. I did and now i'm actually really tanned! I know it's really bad for you, so if you don't mind being pale then just hangout in the sun a lot, but if you don't mind the risks then tanning beds work soo well for pale skin!
Reply:im exactly the same, i use factor 50 suntan lotion, but i find that by the middle/end of the summer, i am a really, really dark brown.
Reply:mmm... u should use self-tanner

even though some of them smells but u

know its the safest choice!

if u want some good real tan u can do some joggin

or swimming

but apply on sunscreen! :]
Reply:I don't know why people answer questions who don't have advice you want! I'm pale and hate it and want to be tan also. I go to the tanning salon, i kinda burn at first a little but you gotta start at like 5 minutes, go once or twice a week and slowly increase your minutes and be sure to use tanning lotion they supply there, it'll help tan you but won't stop a burn or freckles. I've used fake lotions and no matter what they will always leave you uneven.

What moisturiser would you recommend for my dry skin?

I've got conbination skin which becomes quite dry depending on my physical%26amp;mental condition.I don't say that my skin is sensitive but it tends to be so sometimes. The products I've tried haven't made much difference. They've only made my skin either oily or even drier. I'm really fed up with spending a fortune on skincare products.Do you know any bland that is reasonable in price but hydrates the skin without oiliness?

What moisturiser would you recommend for my dry skin?
I'd suggest you change your beauty regime. I'd suggest Liz Earle Cleanse and Polish followed by the normal moisturiser (yes the normal one unless you have really really dry skin) depending on what you use to wash/ cleanse your face can have an impact on your skin before you moisturise - you don't want a cleanser that contains talc as it dries your skin even more.

Few reasons for reccommending liz earle:

Its all organic and natural

Its won almost every award

The cleanser doesn't strip your skin (I have dry sensitive skin and can testify this) which means you don't have to use as much moisturiser

You can buy it from QVC (online) with a 30 day money back garauntee - even if you've used it a few times and don't think its worked

You rub the cleanser into your face and use the muslim cloth to wash it off (so also acts a minor exfoliant)

go to qvcuk.co.uk item number 212062

It also has a video demo to explain about all the different ingredients
Reply:e45 cream its affordable and really does work

deffinetly!
Reply:Oil of Olay...love it!
Reply:I have combination skin and I have found oil of olay total effects very good. Its £15 in Boots but try savers or superdrug it might be cheaper in there.
Reply:E45 do a moisturising cream for face and body, have found it to be very good. Make sure it is the moisturing cream one though and not the E45 emmoliant.
Reply:Lush Cosmetics - Imperalis. This is a great natural cream for combination skin. Around 15 € a pot. all the ingredients come from the nature.

Reply:Oilyness is the natural way your skin keeps hydrated, and also by supplying nutrients and water to it via the bloodstream. Perhaps you aren't drinking enough water, or eating the right kinds of food. Or it could just be your skin is naturally like this. I'd use pure jojoba oil on dry areas especially if it can be sensitive. This oil is the closest to sebum (your natural oil). All commercial brands, even Simple products contain additives derived from petro-chemicals which could have been the cause of the change in your skin's behaviour. If you keep it natural and simple then you should have no worries. If you are prone to spots then add a few drops of tea tree oil with the jojoba. It lasts ages and you only need a little bit. :)
Reply:creme de ler its fantastic pricy though but i buy little tubs at a time from ebay u,l pay around £15.00 for a 7ml jar but it will last a month and it reduces wrinkles/blemishes x

What is the best medication for moles on the skin?is it a skin disease?

By moles i mean growth on the skin, usually dark brown or blak.some tend to grow over time.

What is the best medication for moles on the skin?is it a skin disease?
It could be skin cancer especially if it's growing. You should have a dr. check it out. Better to be safe than sorry.

You can find pics of it here %26amp; learn more about it.

I have a peculiar skin problem... help!?

I happen to have very dry skin on my face... but I still tend to break out...and most acne treatments make my face even dryer and have a tendency to redden my face as well...

Is there anyone in the same boat as me.. or that has advice?

thanks!!

I have a peculiar skin problem... help!?
Your skin is reacting to the chemicals found in most all commercial products. This is pretty common.

Forget the derm, they'll most likely just give you another chemical filled product or pill, which may work for awhile, but then you'll most likely end up back where you started if not in worse shape.

I use only natural ingredients like powdered milk for a facial cleanser and Extra Virgin Olive Oil for a moisturizer. I swear my skin has never been happier! Bonus: it's soooo much better priced!

Reply:Go to the doctors and find out what level extremity your acne is if you haven't already done so. What facial cleansing regime do you use and how severe is your acne?
Reply:Have you spoken to a dermatologist? This sounds like a problem for a professional to deal with. Perhaps your problem is over-drying? If you don't keep your skin properly hydrated it compensates for the dryness by over-producing oil. This can cause blemishes, which often makes people run out to get an acne cleanser which only dries them out further, exacerbating the problem. Have you been checked for allergies? Sometimes acne on dry skin is caused by an allergy. Perhaps you should step back from using the acne products and try using a good, gentile cleanser for sensitive skin and a good oil free face cream. This might help balance out your skin and if you are having an allergy might help tame it. Cetaphil is a great, gentile moisturizer good for people with sensitive skin and allergies.

If I were you I would speak to a dermatologist about the problems you are having with your skin. They can help you to determine the root of the problem and then design a skincare routine that will address you specific needs. Sometimes clinical formulations are needed to address the current outbreak of acne and then you can work on preventing it with the right course of products.

Good luck, these things can be very frustrating!
Reply:Go to the clinique counter and the can help. I use there antibacterial bar of soap(it doesn't dry out my skin) Then i use there super exfoliate(takes away all my dead skin cells)Then i use there moisturising gel. It isn't a lotion so it wont clog you up but it really helps your dry skin. I do this 2 times a day and sometimes sneak in a couple more applications of just the gel. And do not use the astringent, your face is already dry.Good luck.
Reply:Hi there,

Don't worry! You're not alone! I have combination skin too so it's dry as well as oily and I tend to break out too. Invest in an oil free moisturizer so it moisturizes your skin but doesn't leave it feeling greasy. Nivea Visage do a great light oil free moisturizing fluid. I also use Vitamin E at night as it's great for all skin types. Drink lots of water throughout the day to keep your skin hydrated on the inside.

Acne treatments are often too harsh (as you've discovered) as they strip the skin of natural oils and leave them dryer than before. Olay also so an anti-blemish moisturizer which is great for blemishes as well as being a very good moisturizer.

For your breakouts, try an 'on-the-spot' treatment. Most brands do one. It's like a pen that you just 'dab' on the spot so you're only treating the affected area and not the whole face.

Hope this helps x
Reply:I'm hoping for a really good answer to this question, as I have the same problem. I do know that you'll probably want to find a different cleanser, as foaming cleansers are more drying. A good cream cleanser/cleansing oil might help. Maybe if you can take care of the dry part, your skin will stop over-compensating with oil, which causes the breakouts. At night, I follow my cleanser with a serum, a non SPF day cream, AND a night cream. Also, products designed for aging skin usually pack more of a moisture wallop.

A good scrub might help too, to get rid of both the impurities and any dead skin.
Reply:A new moisturizing mask i came up with myself is

1/4 C oatmeal cook with 1/3 c water

i slice cucumber

1 tb honey

1 tb plain yogurt

1 tb coconut oil ( this stuff is the best i just started using it i put it everywhere it smells good and its great for your skin!!

Blend together in blender store in fridge apply to face for 20 min rinse with warm water i use it daily and i dont even need mouisturizers anymore(I also have combination acne prone skin and this works perfectly for me)

Reply:YES!! I had the same problem!! I started to use Hylunia Skin Care which hydrates with hyaluronic acid (a natural humectant) and it cleared my skin right up! I agree, it is peculiar and when I use to see the derm. she just saw acne and presribed acne medicine and skin care which is for oily/acne skin types and made my skin and acne so much worse!! It's been 4 years and I use only HYLUNIA and my skin is perfect! Clear and hydrated:)

Good luck, not many people know about this crazy condition:)

Applying makeup on fair skin/acne prone skin?

Can u reccommend any good makeups? I mostly use Clinique's Super balance or Loreal true Match. In your opinion are these good brands?

How do suggest I apply my makeup?

Im fairskinned, some acne, facial skin is some what rough and I tend to get blemishes. If u could help me out that would be great!

Applying makeup on fair skin/acne prone skin?
Change your make up to bare minerals it is the best natural make up there is ( the one by clinique is a knock off of this brand) it is so pure you can sleep in it and it won`t cause break outs but the better thing is is that it will CLEAR your break outs for fair skin i think your color would be fairly light go to http://www.bareminerals.com
Reply:i use mac powder and i love it its oil free which u should be using if u have acne and it dosnt get ur skin oily looking its a little pricey $25 for a powder but its lasts me 3 months and its awesome
Reply:please read: stop using any makeup on your face. eye and lip makeup is fine, but please for the sake of your skins health, stay away from foundation. Trust me, your skin will clear up quicker and become less dependent on having to wear makeup to hide blemishes. Its a nasty cycle. I know what I am talking about. *clear skin for 8 years*

Does anyone have sensitive skin & use Avon skin care products?

I have been using Clinque for years now. I have very sensitive skin and have found that most moisterizers tend to break me out or cause a rash. Clinque has worked great, but I am on a budget now, and I am seeking something cheaper. I have tried Aveeno, Oil of Olay, etc., in the past. They do not do well with my skin. I was wondering if anyone with sensitive skin had used the Avon skin care products before? How did your skin react to the Avon products? Would you recommend them? Thanks in advance for any advice/help.

Does anyone have sensitive skin %26amp; use Avon skin care products?
Avon products are good for sensitive skin but you wont get any results.

Mary Kay is great for sensitive skin, no fragrance or alcohol, and you will get results the first time you use it...it really is the best!!! Its a little bit more than Avon but def not as much as Clinique
Reply:I've the same trouble like you. I haven't tried the product of Avon, but I use Olay Total Effect 7 without perfume. It does good to my skin. If you decide to use Avon, can you tell me the result?
Reply:The problem is that not all skins react the same to products. I have very sensitive skin too and I cannot use any moisturizers at all. They all break me out. Avon products are good and inexpensive. I suggest that you use them and see what happens.

Reply:I can't tell you but i do think it is 100% guaranteed if you want to give it a try. I would be happy to send you samples of Mary Kay if you are interested in try it. I have sensitive skin and I have a customer that can't even use clinique and is fine with Mary Kay classic line.
Reply:Sorry, I have no feedback on Avon but wondered if you had tried a UK brand called Queen? It's a very old company which specialises in sensitive skin products. I have found them really helpful and their moisturiser is fantastic (and cheaper than Clinique). The only problem is they are mostly mail order altho' they tell me they are going to launch online shopping in the next few months. Website is www.queen-cosmetics.com. Also, please please do be wary of all these 'natural' products. Sensitive skin does not need to be subjected to an array of oils and essences - it needs the simplest products possible. I have had awful reactions to products which claimed to be natural and hypoallergenic. Good luck with your search.
Reply:My husband is an independent sales rep. So I use the products and believe me I have sensitive skin. It's one of the best in my opinion they have the anew line which is really great! It's one of his biggest sellers and I use it too. They even have it in different age groups for different types of aging problems. He has an online store the address is http://www.youravon.com/dpiland can contact him through his site and he can add you to the email list to be notified when items your interested in come on sale.
Reply:I have super sensitive skin and I have to stick strictly to Ivory soap. As far as skin care my skin does well with Oil of Olay but I have used Avon before and it didn't seem to cause me any problems.
