White patches on my skin and rough patches?

I've been having this problem with my skin for a while. Every now and then I get these white rough patches o my skin. When I was 10 i went to the doctor he suggested that maybe it was because I didn't get enough vegetables but even with an increase of vegies these patches still pop up from time to time. Does any one knoe what these could be? Also I tend to get rough patches on my skin that even though no one can see them when I feel my skin that is usually clear and nice my confidence goes down. Are there any home remedies to combat rough patches I'm 17 and broke so expensive solutions are out of the question.

To me it sounds like a moisturizing problem. I'd try making sure you moisturise your skin everyday. The best time to do it is when you get out of the shower and have dried off, but your skin is still moist and warm. The moisture will soak in better and you won't have to use as much. I'd also do it right before bed.
Reply:Most likely it is psoriasis or eczema. It is often controlled with a simple cream from your Doctor. Lots of lotion on top of that will help. I have the same problem, but well under control. Your skin needs more moisture. Often alone lotion will not be enough though.
Reply:If you go to a skin specialist they will probably tell you it is Vitiligo it is hereditry. i have the same thing on my knees elbos, and hands. I got mine when I was 9 it doesn't always show up right away. Look up vitiligo on the internet, I bet that is is. it will get worse there is no cure!
Reply:lots of water and try taking borage oil supplements. They work really well. It helped me. I can definately relate, I had the same problem for years. Hope it goes away and stays away!
Reply:you may have psriousis im probley spelling it realy wrong but its a disease that makes skin cell develop with less elastin and collegen.
