Tanning pale skin?

My skin is very pale and tends to burn and freckle. Whats the best way to tan it it the sunny weather im in at the moment

Tanning pale skin?
I am very pale too, and it is hard to get a good tan, but if you have the patience, then here's what you do:

Prior to being out in the sun go to a tanning salon (find one that is very clean and the people are knowledgeable). When you first start out, go for around 5 minutes (it may not seem like a lot, but you have to BUILD your tan, we aren't the lucky ones that can walk in white and walk out looking like they were on the beach!). Every time you go increase your time by about 2-3 minutes or so (depending on how your skin reacts) You may also want to get a bronzing lotion (NEVER use a tingle with your skin!!!) It will take time, but you can get a nice base and then tanning in the sun won't be as hard on you
Reply:If you do not tan well in the regular sun, you most likely won't in a tanning bed. Plus, you are putting yourself at risk for skin cancer. I have used Jergens Natural Glow lotion. It gave more of a tan look.
Reply:The best kind of tan, no matter what your skin type, is a safe tan, sorry to say.

Take it from someone who is also very fair skinned, and who loves to sit and sunbathe like a lizard.

I prefer L'Oréal Sublime Glow, for fair skin tones - it feels nice and gradually darkens skin very evenly, without the "fake" look. You can probably find it in your drugstore. :)
Reply:Don't.............. You are better off using sunscreen.

Your skin will look better as you age. Tanning turns your skin into leather like condition.

Embrace your beauty and work on your confidence.
Reply:fake tan......or little bursts of sunlight at a time, gradually increasing.... but remember the risk of skin cancer
Reply:Why tan? There's nothing wrong with your natural skin color.
Reply:I used to work in high end cosmetics ... believe me, you should cherish your fair skin!

If you want the tan look, use a gradual self tanner with an SPF of 15 or better, or try an air brush tan (NOT the tanning bed) ...

Tanning with UV or natural sun causes premature aging of the skin. FYI, cigarettes ALSO age skin as well ...
Reply:your skin sounds a lot like mine! But no matter how much time i spend in the sun i never really got as tanned as i'd like to, i'd just burn and get a bunch more freckles! Try a tanning bed. I did and now i'm actually really tanned! I know it's really bad for you, so if you don't mind being pale then just hangout in the sun a lot, but if you don't mind the risks then tanning beds work soo well for pale skin!
Reply:im exactly the same, i use factor 50 suntan lotion, but i find that by the middle/end of the summer, i am a really, really dark brown.
Reply:mmm... u should use self-tanner

even though some of them smells but u

know its the safest choice!

if u want some good real tan u can do some joggin

or swimming

but apply on sunscreen! :]
Reply:I don't know why people answer questions who don't have advice you want! I'm pale and hate it and want to be tan also. I go to the tanning salon, i kinda burn at first a little but you gotta start at like 5 minutes, go once or twice a week and slowly increase your minutes and be sure to use tanning lotion they supply there, it'll help tan you but won't stop a burn or freckles. I've used fake lotions and no matter what they will always leave you uneven.

I have dry skin and my face always tends to peal a bit after showering. It is annoying not have such nice skin like my friends. How can i achieve great complexion?

Any natural remedies?

Natural remedies for getting healthy skin???? Help!?
OLIVE OIL! I kno it sounds strange but it really does help!
Reply:Well, if you have dry skin, try Avon oil free smooth skin facial lotion
Reply:Use witch hazel as a toner.
Reply:use cream that's naural. Try vaseline or ponds cream. Or natural ways can be using less strong soap when showering it can dry your skin. Bathe in Lavender too
Reply:I have heard that drinking milk will help your skin.
Reply:Lots and lots of water to keep yourself hydrated works wonders. Not tons but at least 8 glasses a day. I also wash my face twice a day and use Oil of Olay face cream. Good luck and have a great week : )
Reply:try to use natural creams with a plant called aloe vera,

it hydrates dry skins, and helps to stop irritations

good luck

What moisturiser would you recommend for my dry skin?

I've got conbination skin which becomes quite dry depending on my physical%26amp;mental condition.I don't say that my skin is sensitive but it tends to be so sometimes. The products I've tried haven't made much difference. They've only made my skin either oily or even drier. I'm really fed up with spending a fortune on skincare products.Do you know any bland that is reasonable in price but hydrates the skin without oiliness?

What moisturiser would you recommend for my dry skin?
I'd suggest you change your beauty regime. I'd suggest Liz Earle Cleanse and Polish followed by the normal moisturiser (yes the normal one unless you have really really dry skin) depending on what you use to wash/ cleanse your face can have an impact on your skin before you moisturise - you don't want a cleanser that contains talc as it dries your skin even more.

Few reasons for reccommending liz earle:

Its all organic and natural

Its won almost every award

The cleanser doesn't strip your skin (I have dry sensitive skin and can testify this) which means you don't have to use as much moisturiser

You can buy it from QVC (online) with a 30 day money back garauntee - even if you've used it a few times and don't think its worked

You rub the cleanser into your face and use the muslim cloth to wash it off (so also acts a minor exfoliant)

go to qvcuk.co.uk item number 212062

It also has a video demo to explain about all the different ingredients

deffinetly!
Reply:Oil of Olay...love it!
Reply:I have combination skin and I have found oil of olay total effects very good. Its £15 in Boots but try savers or superdrug it might be cheaper in there.
Reply:E45 do a moisturising cream for face and body, have found it to be very good. Make sure it is the moisturing cream one though and not the E45 emmoliant.
Reply:Lush Cosmetics - Imperalis. This is a great natural cream for combination skin. Around 15 € a pot. all the ingredients come from the nature.

Reply:Oilyness is the natural way your skin keeps hydrated, and also by supplying nutrients and water to it via the bloodstream. Perhaps you aren't drinking enough water, or eating the right kinds of food. Or it could just be your skin is naturally like this. I'd use pure jojoba oil on dry areas especially if it can be sensitive. This oil is the closest to sebum (your natural oil). All commercial brands, even Simple products contain additives derived from petro-chemicals which could have been the cause of the change in your skin's behaviour. If you keep it natural and simple then you should have no worries. If you are prone to spots then add a few drops of tea tree oil with the jojoba. It lasts ages and you only need a little bit. :)
Reply:creme de ler its fantastic pricy though but i buy little tubs at a time from ebay u,l pay around £15.00 for a 7ml jar but it will last a month and it reduces wrinkles/blemishes x

What is the best medication for moles on the skin?is it a skin disease?

By moles i mean growth on the skin, usually dark brown or blak.some tend to grow over time.

What is the best medication for moles on the skin?is it a skin disease?
It could be skin cancer especially if it's growing. You should have a dr. check it out. Better to be safe than sorry.

You can find pics of it here %26amp; learn more about it.

I have a peculiar skin problem... help!?

I happen to have very dry skin on my face... but I still tend to break out...and most acne treatments make my face even dryer and have a tendency to redden my face as well...

Is there anyone in the same boat as me.. or that has advice?

thanks!!

I have a peculiar skin problem... help!?
Your skin is reacting to the chemicals found in most all commercial products. This is pretty common.

Forget the derm, they'll most likely just give you another chemical filled product or pill, which may work for awhile, but then you'll most likely end up back where you started if not in worse shape.

I use only natural ingredients like powdered milk for a facial cleanser and Extra Virgin Olive Oil for a moisturizer. I swear my skin has never been happier! Bonus: it's soooo much better priced!

Here's a great site for skin care ideas and advice that's simple, homemade and much better for you!

Reply:Go to the doctors and find out what level extremity your acne is if you haven't already done so. What facial cleansing regime do you use and how severe is your acne?
Reply:Have you spoken to a dermatologist? This sounds like a problem for a professional to deal with. Perhaps your problem is over-drying? If you don't keep your skin properly hydrated it compensates for the dryness by over-producing oil. This can cause blemishes, which often makes people run out to get an acne cleanser which only dries them out further, exacerbating the problem. Have you been checked for allergies? Sometimes acne on dry skin is caused by an allergy. Perhaps you should step back from using the acne products and try using a good, gentile cleanser for sensitive skin and a good oil free face cream. This might help balance out your skin and if you are having an allergy might help tame it. Cetaphil is a great, gentile moisturizer good for people with sensitive skin and allergies.

If I were you I would speak to a dermatologist about the problems you are having with your skin. They can help you to determine the root of the problem and then design a skincare routine that will address you specific needs. Sometimes clinical formulations are needed to address the current outbreak of acne and then you can work on preventing it with the right course of products.

Good luck, these things can be very frustrating!
Reply:Go to the clinique counter and the can help. I use there antibacterial bar of soap(it doesn't dry out my skin) Then i use there super exfoliate(takes away all my dead skin cells)Then i use there moisturising gel. It isn't a lotion so it wont clog you up but it really helps your dry skin. I do this 2 times a day and sometimes sneak in a couple more applications of just the gel. And do not use the astringent, your face is already dry.Good luck.
Reply:Hi there,

Don't worry! You're not alone! I have combination skin too so it's dry as well as oily and I tend to break out too. Invest in an oil free moisturizer so it moisturizes your skin but doesn't leave it feeling greasy. Nivea Visage do a great light oil free moisturizing fluid. I also use Vitamin E at night as it's great for all skin types. Drink lots of water throughout the day to keep your skin hydrated on the inside.

Acne treatments are often too harsh (as you've discovered) as they strip the skin of natural oils and leave them dryer than before. Olay also so an anti-blemish moisturizer which is great for blemishes as well as being a very good moisturizer.

For your breakouts, try an 'on-the-spot' treatment. Most brands do one. It's like a pen that you just 'dab' on the spot so you're only treating the affected area and not the whole face.

Hope this helps x
Reply:I'm hoping for a really good answer to this question, as I have the same problem. I do know that you'll probably want to find a different cleanser, as foaming cleansers are more drying. A good cream cleanser/cleansing oil might help. Maybe if you can take care of the dry part, your skin will stop over-compensating with oil, which causes the breakouts. At night, I follow my cleanser with a serum, a non SPF day cream, AND a night cream. Also, products designed for aging skin usually pack more of a moisture wallop.

A good scrub might help too, to get rid of both the impurities and any dead skin.
Reply:A new moisturizing mask i came up with myself is

1/4 C oatmeal cook with 1/3 c water

i slice cucumber

1 tb honey

1 tb plain yogurt

1 tb coconut oil ( this stuff is the best i just started using it i put it everywhere it smells good and its great for your skin!!

Blend together in blender store in fridge apply to face for 20 min rinse with warm water i use it daily and i dont even need mouisturizers anymore(I also have combination acne prone skin and this works perfectly for me)

Reply:YES!! I had the same problem!! I started to use Hylunia Skin Care which hydrates with hyaluronic acid (a natural humectant) and it cleared my skin right up! I agree, it is peculiar and when I use to see the derm. she just saw acne and presribed acne medicine and skin care which is for oily/acne skin types and made my skin and acne so much worse!! It's been 4 years and I use only HYLUNIA and my skin is perfect! Clear and hydrated:)

Good luck, not many people know about this crazy condition:)

Applying makeup on fair skin/acne prone skin?

Can u reccommend any good makeups? I mostly use Clinique's Super balance or Loreal true Match. In your opinion are these good brands?

How do suggest I apply my makeup?

Im fairskinned, some acne, facial skin is some what rough and I tend to get blemishes. If u could help me out that would be great!

Applying makeup on fair skin/acne prone skin?
Change your make up to bare minerals it is the best natural make up there is ( the one by clinique is a knock off of this brand) it is so pure you can sleep in it and it won`t cause break outs but the better thing is is that it will CLEAR your break outs for fair skin i think your color would be fairly light go to http://www.bareminerals.com
Reply:i use mac powder and i love it its oil free which u should be using if u have acne and it dosnt get ur skin oily looking its a little pricey $25 for a powder but its lasts me 3 months and its awesome
Reply:please read: stop using any makeup on your face. eye and lip makeup is fine, but please for the sake of your skins health, stay away from foundation. Trust me, your skin will clear up quicker and become less dependent on having to wear makeup to hide blemishes. Its a nasty cycle. I know what I am talking about. *clear skin for 8 years*

Does anyone have sensitive skin & use Avon skin care products?

I have been using Clinque for years now. I have very sensitive skin and have found that most moisterizers tend to break me out or cause a rash. Clinque has worked great, but I am on a budget now, and I am seeking something cheaper. I have tried Aveeno, Oil of Olay, etc., in the past. They do not do well with my skin. I was wondering if anyone with sensitive skin had used the Avon skin care products before? How did your skin react to the Avon products? Would you recommend them? Thanks in advance for any advice/help.

Does anyone have sensitive skin %26amp; use Avon skin care products?
Avon products are good for sensitive skin but you wont get any results.

Mary Kay is great for sensitive skin, no fragrance or alcohol, and you will get results the first time you use it...it really is the best!!! Its a little bit more than Avon but def not as much as Clinique
Reply:I've the same trouble like you. I haven't tried the product of Avon, but I use Olay Total Effect 7 without perfume. It does good to my skin. If you decide to use Avon, can you tell me the result?
Reply:The problem is that not all skins react the same to products. I have very sensitive skin too and I cannot use any moisturizers at all. They all break me out. Avon products are good and inexpensive. I suggest that you use them and see what happens.
Reply:You may want to try Arbonne, the choice of spas, salons, doctors, plastic surgeons, dermatologists, and estheticians. Arbonne's products are made with the finest and most premium botanical oils and herbals. They're pure, safe, and beneficial!

Reply:I can't tell you but i do think it is 100% guaranteed if you want to give it a try. I would be happy to send you samples of Mary Kay if you are interested in try it. I have sensitive skin and I have a customer that can't even use clinique and is fine with Mary Kay classic line.
Reply:Sorry, I have no feedback on Avon but wondered if you had tried a UK brand called Queen? It's a very old company which specialises in sensitive skin products. I have found them really helpful and their moisturiser is fantastic (and cheaper than Clinique). The only problem is they are mostly mail order altho' they tell me they are going to launch online shopping in the next few months. Website is www.queen-cosmetics.com. Also, please please do be wary of all these 'natural' products. Sensitive skin does not need to be subjected to an array of oils and essences - it needs the simplest products possible. I have had awful reactions to products which claimed to be natural and hypoallergenic. Good luck with your search.
Reply:My husband is an independent sales rep. So I use the products and believe me I have sensitive skin. It's one of the best in my opinion they have the anew line which is really great! It's one of his biggest sellers and I use it too. They even have it in different age groups for different types of aging problems. He has an online store the address is http://www.youravon.com/dpiland can contact him through his site and he can add you to the email list to be notified when items your interested in come on sale.
Reply:I have super sensitive skin and I have to stick strictly to Ivory soap. As far as skin care my skin does well with Oil of Olay but I have used Avon before and it didn't seem to cause me any problems.

Reply:if you have a certain problem area, you can use antibiotic ointment such as neosporen
Reply:Clearasil, or proactive. wash face regularly.
Reply:My mother uses a daily face wash twice a day and afterwards uses hydrogen peroxide on a cotton ball the way a person would use an astringent. just wet cotton ball and swipe all over face/problem areas.

it works for her, but everyone's skin is different.

Hydrogen peroxide can be found in the medical section of drug stores, it comes in a brown plastic bottle, and is extremely cheap at $1 for a 16oz bottle.

best wishes!

2.scrub your skin with coco milk.

3.if you afford go to your derma...

4.balance diet, eat lot of vege. less cholesterol...

5.exercise.
Reply:Cover the blemish with a dab of honey and place a Band-Aid over it. Honey kills the bacteria, keeps the skin sterile, and speeds healing. Works overnight.
Reply:Drink a lot of water, and exercise. Trust me. Also, moisturize and use sunscreen! The sun isn't only bad for your skin, it induces breakouts. The one thing NOT to do is to use excessive cleaning products or things that will dry out your skin too much because then your skin will try to produce more oils to compensate--more oils=more breakouts. But really, drinking water and working out helps a ton.

As far as cheap being better, I'd try to go to a dermatologist if I were you. Your skin is yours for life, I don't know why you wouldn't want to spend money on it, of anything you could spend money on.
Reply:Cetaphil makes awesome cleansers and moisturizers and their inexpensive! Also Neutrogena has a great line of products also somewhat inexpensive, that I buy for my teenager that are good. Either one is great and you can buy them anywhere.
Reply:green wintergreen rubbing alcohol..its about 80 cents a bottle at walgreens
Reply:Drinking plenty of water helps. Just make a habit of it. At least 2 liters a day. This will cause for you to have minor breakouts when you start because your skin will be clearing itself and getting rid of the impurities. But this will help your overall health, not just your skin.
Reply:USE ALCOHOL IT GETS RIDE OF PIMPLES
Reply:well i cant help you but send your question to this email address:

Reply:Avon has a blemish gel called Clearskin® Immediate Response Spot Treatment . This gel works STAT but be careful it tends to dry the applied area. Simply apply to the blemish and not the surrounding skin otherwise you will find yourself treating a dry spot.

Find your local Avon rep or go to http://www.avon.com/
Reply:Believe it or not if you want to take the redness out of a blemish and make it shrink dab a small amount of minty toothpaste (non tartar control) on the blemish before you go to bed. I used to use it as a kid (i am 38 now) and I still use it occasionally. To keep it clear, keep your hair off your face. Keep your hands off you face. Keep makeup to a minimum and use water based products. Wash your face in the morning with a gentle soap and again before you go to bed. Eat right, exercise, and drink plenty of water. If you have really oily skin like the other recommended a little alcohol or witch hazel will work wonders. Now if you can figure out how to get my 13 year old daughter to listen to me about keep her skin clear then we are in business.

White patches on my skin and rough patches?

I've been having this problem with my skin for a while. Every now and then I get these white rough patches o my skin. When I was 10 i went to the doctor he suggested that maybe it was because I didn't get enough vegetables but even with an increase of vegies these patches still pop up from time to time. Does any one knoe what these could be? Also I tend to get rough patches on my skin that even though no one can see them when I feel my skin that is usually clear and nice my confidence goes down. Are there any home remedies to combat rough patches I'm 17 and broke so expensive solutions are out of the question.

White patches on my skin and rough patches?
To me it sounds like a moisturizing problem. I'd try making sure you moisturise your skin everyday. The best time to do it is when you get out of the shower and have dried off, but your skin is still moist and warm. The moisture will soak in better and you won't have to use as much. I'd also do it right before bed.
Reply:Most likely it is psoriasis or eczema. It is often controlled with a simple cream from your Doctor. Lots of lotion on top of that will help. I have the same problem, but well under control. Your skin needs more moisture. Often alone lotion will not be enough though.
Reply:If you go to a skin specialist they will probably tell you it is Vitiligo it is hereditry. i have the same thing on my knees elbos, and hands. I got mine when I was 9 it doesn't always show up right away. Look up vitiligo on the internet, I bet that is is. it will get worse there is no cure!
Reply:lots of water and try taking borage oil supplements. They work really well. It helped me. I can definately relate, I had the same problem for years. Hope it goes away and stays away!

What to do about dry skin?

i get REALLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLY dry skin in the winter. and on top of that im using pro activ...which tends to dry out my skin even more. what can i do to stop all the dry flakyness? i exfoliate and moisturize SOOO much yet it seems to do nothing.. help!

What to do about dry skin?
Drink LOTS of water. Avoid dry heat like electric heaters, car heaters, blow dryers, etc. Consider running a humidifier.

Moisturize, moisturize, moisturize!

Wear a heavy night cream before bed.

Use products according to your skin type. If you have dry skin, use products for dry skin! If acne is not a problem, don't use Proactiv.
Reply:Proactiv is pretty drying, so there may not be much more you can do.

Try using it only at night, then in the morning use a substantial oil free moisturizer. Avoid anything with mineral oil or petroleum.

It is important to use the moisturizer on damp skin to seal in the moisture. Apply 2 coats and apply no later than 20 minutes after washing.
Reply:its winter time use some lotion girl!!! sshea butter , coca butter ,aloe vera, all good
Reply:DRINK PLENTY OF WATER. I have the dry skin syndrome as well. The meds I take affect it too. Now remember to moisturize everyday. I moisturized several times a day. The heaters in your home will dry you out as well. Make sure you apply plenty of moisturizer before be.

I use an all natural recipe for a mask that I use too. It is pretty gross, but it leaves your skin feeling as soft as a baby's bottom.

Anything I can put on my skin after I shave?

I have atopic dermatitis skin. After I shave my legs tend to get red and itchy and im not sure if its because of my skin being atopic dermatitis or maybe just the razors so does anyone know of anything i might can put on my legs to help the itching? your skin is not dehydrated jsut dry in areas

get some neotragena facial scrub for combination skin.get a toner for afterwards
Reply:I use Clean and Clear and pimple remover. I think its called Clean %26amp; Clear Scrub face wash or something similiar to that. It really works but be careful not to get it in your eyes.
Reply:I think you've got a mixed type of skin, where it appears normal to dry all over and only oily on the T-zone.

You should be using:

1- facial wash (neutrogena deep clean is good)

2- toner

3- lotion (for mixed to dry skin)

Now regarding brands, there isn't a best one, you can simply check for any brand that got the type you need for your skin complexion.

Try Neutorgena if you want, it is good.
Reply:Please go to www.bcfore.co.in , we can help you resolve this problem, will cost you USD 175 , including shipping.
Reply:SK-II miracle water..
Reply:Best facial I have ever used is Essence by JASCO Organics. Takes care of my t-zone instantly every time. Plus it's only $20 for two applications. I do it once a month. It comes in two bottles and you mix it fresh. The powder contains organic blue green algae, organic icelandic kelp and moroccan rhassoul. Absolutely awesome and nothing synthetic. This is the closest I have found to an at-home spa facial.

Making skin look radiant?

I have very fair skin. I don't like the idea of tanning beds or self tanners. I just want a face cream that I can apply to my face to make it alittle brighter a little more radiant since my skin is very fair. I dont mind if the face cream has a little color enhancer. I dont try many face creams because i am never sure what one to buy. I dont wanna buy a cream that is going to make my skin too oily because then i tend to break out. So if anyone has tried some cream that they love let me know what the name is. thanks a bunch

Making skin look radiant?
um try johnssons holdiday skin! it gradually builds a light tan, and theirs one for ur face and one for ur body, it's great just make sure u wash ur hands after.
Reply:Tried Tinted Moisturizer from Mary Kay.. It's fabulous! I know because I sell it! ;)
Reply:Put a little bit of honey and little pieces of banana and put on face for 10 minutes, let the mask tighten your skin then rinse off. I swear by this it works so amazingly great. Do this 2-3 times a week and your skin will feel smooth, clear, fresh, and the honey will dehydrate your skin and the banana will moisturize it.

After put some clean and clear peas gel 10 on it, go to bed with it on, next morning, rinse it off and your skin will look and feel good.

How to get rid of the doggy smell due to skin allergies?

My dog has bad skin allergies and seborrhea during certain times of the year. He loses a lot of his hair and gets hot spots from all the scratching. I bathe him in a medicated shampoo prescribed by the veterinarian (which I tend to think dries out his skin more), use a hot spot spray 2 or 3 times a day, and give him medicine daily. I have been keeping him in the house, but sometimes his smell is so bad that I have to spray air freshener all over the house.

How to get rid of the doggy smell due to skin allergies?
We go through the same thing. There are a couple of things you can do to help his situation. Put olive oil, just a little bit in his food...this will help the dry skin and bring is coat back nice and shiney. As for bathing, don't do that very often. We bathe our Chow about every 4 weeks and yes, there are times when he really smells, but thats the nature of the beast. He only goes through this certain times of the year and fall is the worst. I don't give him any medication from the vet because I found it was not helping that much. I had the spray, etc. I use Neosporin on the hot spots when he does get them and give him benedryl which is drying, but with the addition of the olive oil in his food, it is ok. He scratches a lot less, sleeps better and has fewer spots. Good luck.
Reply:do you bath him all over, and how many times per week?

Perhaps you can get a anti perspant for dogs
Reply:LOL. try an oatmeal bath.....or the Pet Febreeze....it is safe for animals and pets. Give you dog a kiss for me =)
Reply:go to your vet and they probly hav a shampoo to get rid of it
Reply:try baby bath. I like the ones by TollyJoy.

try find out why he is having these problems. usually its the food he eats so change his diet.

Milk and poultry seems to be bad for dogs so avoid that
Reply:I had the same problem. You will have to bathe the dog daily or every other day, this includes a good conditioner. And same thing goes for all bedding at the same time in hot water. Good luck- it's alot of work!
Reply:Don't bathe him too often.

Ask your vet or a groomer as to how often you should bathe him.

You might be removing essential oils from his skin.

You need to find another oral medication.

There is a spray that just masks the odor from your dogs coat. Check at Petsmart or any pet store.
Reply:Try using an oatmeal pet shampoo. Oatmeal is very soothing and may even help that odor by helping the skin. Actually, the smell is a combination of an excess of skin shedding (dead cells) and the high amount of oil produced by the skin. Possibly rubbing your dog down with clean towels several times a day would help reduce the odor by sloughing off the dead cells onto the towel and the towel also absorbing some of the excess oils. Go to a dollar store and buy a bunch of inexpensive towels just for the dog.
Reply:Yeah, I used to have one of those. The stench was incredible. I used to say that if anyone ever stole him, they'd bring him right back.

I was fortunate that I was able to clear up his allergy issues with diet, so we eventually got rid of the smell that way.

But otherwise, as long as the skin is bad there will be an odor. You can't, of course, use colognes or scented shampoos, because the perfumes are likely to irritate the allergies.

You COULD try either a baking soda rinse or a vinegar rinse. Ask your vet about whether that would be appropriate for him.
Reply:You might want to consider changing his diet. My dog used to get a rash and hot spots too, until we started feeding him Wysong Lamg %26amp; Rice. We'd tried a lot of other high end brands, and this is the first one we've found so far that doesn't make him have a skin reaction. His coat is beautiful and shiny now and no more hot spots and funk.
Reply:Napalm

Whoosh and the dog is gone
Reply:We have a lab with the same issue. Our best luck has been with Lamb %26amp; Rice formula food, oatmeal or conditioning shampoos and hot spot or hydrocortisone spray. There are certain times of the year that control is really difficult and we also give Benadryl at night so that she can rest from the itching. Also, before she was spayed, hormonal times seemed to aggravate the condition so if your big man is not fixed - it might help - plus as they age it prevents other health issues. Our girl also has her own blanket that we move from the bedroom to the den and she knows that it is her primary spot to lie in (then I can wash it every couple of days to help control home odor).
Reply:Get a second opinion from another vet, definitely but you might try oatmeal and conditioning shampoos. There is a great one I use on my dogs that has oatmeal and also baking soda to reduce odor its called "Fresh 'n Clean" Oatmeal 'N Baking soda shampoo. Try it, it works great on my girls. And maybe changing your dogs food.
Reply:I would try working from the inside rather than the outside. Change his diet. Here are some suggestions:

Sometimes a simple meat and rice recipe will work, but some of the problems that you're having will respond better to a high-quality grain-free diet. All kibble, which is cheaper than canned or raw, must have grain, potato, or tapioca in it to hold it together. Potato would be cheaper than tapioca, and potato is better than grain.

HIgh-quality means that most of the ingredients are of HUMAN-GRADE quality. None of the recall products were human-grade. If it's not good enough for me, it's not good enough for my dogs.

The first ingredient should be a meat. It shouldn't be a meat by-product or a meal. Neither of these are human grade, nor can they be measured for there nutritional content. That's because the company cooks down a bunch of different animal parts that's different each time.

Don't get anything with wheat, corn, soy (or soybean oil), BHA, BHT, ethoxoquin, artificial flavors and colors, salt, sugars (including sucrose and fructose).

A lot of these poor-quality ingredients are cheap fillers, flavor enhancers, and preservatives. They offer a low source of nutrition, and weaken the immune system. That's what causes allergies. The only reason they're in the recipe is because they serve a purpose for the company, not to keep your dog healthy.

I suggest you read dog food labels carefully. Look at foods like Evo (made by Innova), Timberwolf Wild %26amp; Natural or Ocean Blue, Barking At The Moon (made by Solid Gold). They're more expensive, but they would seriously cut down on the allergies, which would mean less trips to the vet. I also suggest adding a cold-water fish oil, like salmon, krill, anchovy or sardine. This will help a lot with the ear problem and the yeast. You could also add probiotics and dygestive enzymes.

One product that has salmon oil, pre- and probiotcs, and digestive enzymes is Positive Health by Great Life. They also make an excellent food, but is expensive. Their website is http://www.greatlife4pets.com
Reply:It has to be what your feeding.I know everyone on here is reccomending shampoos and conditioners. ill tell you now that will do little benefit and I'm sure you have already noticed. I suggest that for a month or so just try feeding a raw diet. and yes frequent baths will over time dry out your dog's skin. Give him some raw meaty beef bones, lamb bones, chicken meat. It really helps. My dog really stunk to but after feeding him a raw diet for a month he totally reversed. he smelled good, his breath smelled good, he was healthy. , his teeth were cleaner than when he was fed kibble.

When cold, skin around arms turn blue?

Whenever I'm in a somewhat cold class at school, I may not feel cold, my skin around my arms tends to turn blue and purple like.

I'm naturally skinny, and so wondering if this is mainly because I'm cold, and to fix it would be to wear long sleeves, or could I be lacking on a vitamin or nutrient too?

When cold, skin around arms turn blue?
mine does that , its b/c of poor circulation in your arm
Reply:it's because you don't have a lot of body fat to keep yourself warm. try wearing slightly warmer clothes- long sleeves would be a good idea. eating a healthy diet and getting plenty of sleep will probably also help.

if your bmi is below 17 it would probably be a good idea to gain a little weight.

Sun Tan lotion, moisturisers and concealers for sensitive skin?

I am going to South Africa in April and have very sensitive skin (not necerssarily skin that burns easily, but a lot of sun tan lotions give me a rash). Any recommendations?

I am also looking for an oil free moisturiser, I am prone to very dry skin, but most good moisturisers tend to clog my pores and give me spots. Any recomendations?

And finally, I'm looking for a cover up that lasts and won't melt in hot weather. Again, any recommendations?

Thanks

Try looking online, for natural organic lotions. You can search for the best in google.

I would give you exact ones, but I don't know which country you are living in at the mo.

You can buy them from any distributor of Forever Living. But why not buy direct from the company web site and buy them 30% cheaper. That is what I do. Tired or oily skin, black heads and pimples?

At first it was cute.. Now I just cant stand it anymore!!.. I am 30 and my skin is oily and I tend to get black heads and sometimes pimples. I have tried the noxzema treatments, neutrogena, proactive and other pimple/black head removal stuff. It kills one pimple/blackhead and the rest of its family comes to the funeral.. I drink more than plenty of water, I wash my face 2 times a day and dont eat greasy foods. What can I do to get rid of them period??

Tired or oily skin, black heads and pimples?
If you have already tried proactiv and it did not work then I would get to a dermatologist.
Reply:Go to a dermatologist and maybe he/she will prescribe you something stronger for your skin that can get rid of it.
Reply:sheshido works super great ask for samples at first they have the foaming face wash, night cream and a toner i had a problem with black heads, oily skin ect, i tried that out and it worked super great i am 30 yrs old as well
Reply:You have to be happy with this, because having dry face makes you go older. I have oily face too and I know what you're talking about. I usually have those bloody spots on my chin area!!

I use this evenings and i am happy:

It somehow flattens those welcoming spots who are never welcome by me, but they still come and i hate them!!

http://www.esteelauder.co.uk/templates/p...

Also, Clinic has a great face cream that is face jell. It flattens again. You need those new type of face creams that make those spots of yours just disappear and flatten their exciting squeezing parts! good luck! Ask a good Pharmasist about this. they can be great to help!
Reply:Clogged pores are often a direct cause of pimples and acne.Oranges and lemon (any citrusfruit)work well as great natural exfoliates to remove dead skin and open pores.Using a cotton ball, apply lemon juice on your face. Let it dry for about 10 mints and then wash away.Always wash your face before going to bed at night As you sleep, your skin rejuvenates itself. Left over makeup and dirt from the day can result in nasty zits.It is better to use a facial cleanser instead of soap as soap can irritate your skin.Egg white is a wonderful face mask. The white is rich in Vitamin A that is magic for your skin.

Include lot of fresh fruits and vegetables in your diet. Drink lots of water.

Stick to a regime and be consistent. Exfoliate twice a week and a mask once a week.

Don't use any products with mineral oil and don't hesitate to heat a clean wash cloth (damp) in micro and place on your face a few times before your PM wash-

Look in to Arbonne. They have a great clear advantage

Reply:make sure u scrub clense n tone puhleez make sure ur system is clean .take a tummy clearing tablet i will work have lots of curd n water dont go 4 products n use pears as it is d mildest of all its recommended by doctors yeaah believe me
Reply:Use Tolsom Facial Cleansing Foam to get rid of you oily skin. Then use Acne Treatment Wash to clear the rest up. Check the sites below.

Tolsom Facial Cleansing Foam is designed for male users, Females should use a different product.
Reply:Cleaning your face with mild soap and water twice or thrice daily will minimize the secretion of oil.

If you are outside, use baby wipes if your skin is sensitive to clean your face. Then re-apply your makeup. Apply dry facial masque once per week. Cover your face with hot, steaming washcloths and then apply the masque to open up the pores. This cleans your pores thoroughly.

Before going to bed, use oil-free moisturizer. For removing the oil present on the make-up, gently clean your face by using toilet tissue. The tissue will remove the excess oil without affecting the make-up.

Apply foundation and then small amount of under-eye concealer with a fingertip. This will hide the blemish under the eyes.
Reply:If you have tried all of the products that work on the outside maybe you should try something that is taken as a pill form.

It could be more your hormones and body make up than anything else I know I used to get pimples and blackheads all of the time when I got stressed or worked a lot and all of the products that I used like the soaps and other treatments made my skin really dry and it seemed to get worse. Look for something that is natural. Sucks when you still get pimples after you think you should be done with it.

Has anyone had peeling skin on the face while on Yasmin? How long did it last and what's a good moisturiser?

I have just switched from Dianne to Yasmin as Dianne was doing nothing for my Acne. I haven't noticed any side affects with Yasmin, and I haven't been breaking out as much since I started a week ago. The skin particularly around where I tend to break out on my face has started peeling, though. Just wondering if anyone else had experienced this. I haven't been using any harsh products.. Also, can anyone recommend a good moisturiser? I'd like something that I can wear makeup ontop of. I am really pleased not to be breaking out, but the flakey skin isn't such a good look, either.

Has anyone had peeling skin on the face while on Yasmin? How long did it last and what's a good moisturiser?
Well I dont take Yasmin so I cant explain or undestand why your skin is flaking but I can recommend a great moisturizer. I recently bought Neutrogena 30 SPF untinted moisturizer and it is fantastic. Hope this helps.

Best skin care routine?

Hello all. I need some pointers on what brands and products I should use. What are the best brands you have used for skin care on your face?

I have dry/sensitive skin and large pores. I tend to breakout a few times a year on my chin and forehead. Also I have a lot of blackheads on and around my nose.

If you could give me some advice it would be much appreciated!

Best skin care routine?
The best non-prescription facial products that I have found are made by Neutrogena. I have super sensitive skin and it is hard to find products that are not too harsh or drying. I use the acne stress control facewash and cream. The facewash has micro-scrubbers, which are great for blackheads. Make sure you scrub until it tingles. I also use their moisturizer during the day. It is not oily and doesn't cause breakouts.
Reply:eskinol pimple fighting facial wash and eskinol papaya facial cleanser...i don't if it's available in yourplace.if not,,, try olay facial products.
Reply:Visit Kaya Skin Clinic's website.
Reply:For your type of skin I would recommend what my son use. Arbonne Not So Basic Intelligence system...washer, toner, exfoliating masque, eye cream and moisturizer. It is botanical based, vegan, no mineral oil, no fragance no color, hypoallergenic, tested by dermatologist. Prevents breakouts and helps sensitive skin.

If you like more informatin or free sample let me know.
Reply:diana stalder products are the best brand to use and they are very well known products..Please read about their products.

Help!!!! combination?!! oily skin??

I'm somewhere around combination to oily skin.

For example, if I wash my face twice a day morning and night, after I wash my face in the morning it would be oily only on the t-zone. But by night, except around my lips, it becomes oily all over. But just couple months ago, I started having this extreme break out on my cheeks. I still don't know the exact reason why it happened, but I'm guessing its from stress, health, make-up %26amp;/or etc. So I was just wondering a couple of things from here.

1. Which category do you guys suggest I really am? COMBINATION or OILY skin?

2. Toners with alcohol tend to make my face red and sometimes sting. Will it be okay if I use a tonic for sensitive skin?

3. And in my case, should I use a moisturizer thats gel type or light-weight lotion?

Thank you so much for your time!

Help!!!! combination?!! oily skin??
You sound combo-oily-oily but you could also be dehydrated-combo -oily too. Especially if you have sesnitive skin. Dehydrated skin will produce excessive oil which makes it seems like its oily-oily but infact not. You need a non-oily hydrating cream. The sensitve tonic sounds great. Don't use a harsh cleanser, use combo skin cleanser and get a enzyme type exfoilant. Granule exfoilants may irritate your skin, thus producing more oil. I don't know how much money you have to spend on skin care....I had the worst time with oily, combo, breakouts until finally someone said your skin is dehydrated. Luckily I can afford to spend a little and if you can too, EMINENCE skin care is the best. It's organic and it's amazing. Another good one is dermalogica. Hopefull that helps.
Reply:I am the same way. I use "Saint Ives, apricot scrub" twice a day.
Reply:I too have oil-skin, and Acne Free..Has eliminated 90percent of my breakouts! I tried proactiv and it didnt work well at all..you can buy acne free at walmart for like 18 dollars.. compared to 45.90 with tax Proactiv...I think you should try it!

Why would it not be ok to use cellulite cream on facial skin which is tending towards wrinkling?

Hi,

No, don't do that! Get some proper anti-wrinkle cream! Cellulite cream would be too harsh on your face and may even make you come out in a rash... It wouldn't resolve anything either because your skin on your face is different to that on your legs - it needs different chemicals to resolve any wrinkles..

Anti-wrinkle cream isn't that expensive even if you get a good one - try L'Oreal Revitalift.

Good luck!

Lorna

Why would it not be ok to use cellulite cream on facial skin which is tending towards wrinkling?
No, don't do that. Anything that is meant for body should solely be applied on body but anything that's meant for face, for example you bought a lotion but do not like it, don't throw them away, you could used them on your leg, your hand etc.

Can anyone recommend a good face wash for sensitive skin?

I've got sensitive skin and even washing with water tends to make my skin feel tight and dry. I was just wondering if anyone had found a good face wash which won't dry my skin? Many thanks in advance for any help...

Can anyone recommend a good face wash for sensitive skin?
There's a ton of good ones out there, here's a list of good ones to try. I have used them all with no problems.

Aveeno Ultra Calming Foaming Cleanser

Cetaphil Gentle Skin Cleanser

CeraVe Hydrating Cleanser

You could also try Cetaphil but, I have and didn't like it.

If our skin is itching, we scratch - and rub in dirt and bacteria. Why did nature invent itching at all?

Scratching is kind of nice at first, but on the downside it tends to aggravate the skin. In combination with mosquito bites or neurodermitis, to name just two examples, things are usually getting worse before they get any better. Could anyone think of some superior purpose lying within the concept of "itching", rather than simply sticking with the good old "pain"?

If our skin is itching, we scratch - and rub in dirt and bacteria. Why did nature invent itching at all?
Well, three quesses.

According to your hypothesis we rub in dirt and bacteria, so maybe nature is doing this on purpose to make us get bateria on us to build up our immune systems.

Or maybe there are chemicals or enzymes in things that bite us or touch our skin (like being allergic to metal) that cause the itch.

But I think the most popular answer to this queston would have something to do with the fact that during a months time your skin is completeky recycled meaning, the layer that was on the very bottom at the begining of that month is now the top layer of skin. You itch because dead skin is needing to be scracted off.
Reply:It alerts the body that something is going on and should be taken care of. There is no other superior reason behind it other than a reminder that it itches and you should find lemon or salt, or whatever you have around to neutrilized the effect.
Reply:its an evolutionary thing i guess. plus itching can make u get rid of stuff on ur skin that cud harm u, it doesnt always rub it in.
Reply:Histamine is released as part of the imflammatory response. This makes the capillaries more 'leaky' so white blood cells can leave them, thus reaching the site of infection so they can start the immune response.

It is histamine which causes the itching, hence the reason why anti-histamine cream is effective on bites.
Reply:I've also thought about this... superior purpose...as to why we scratch. I'm thinking that it might provide a beneficial increase in circulation that aids healing.

For the insect sting/bite it may help to dissipate the problem. For neurologically stimulated itching--no clue as to a beneficial effect.

If you think of it, most of our actions and reactions were born of survival necessities to benefit us until we procreate.

I don't know, this seems a rather subjective "science" to second-guess why we have or do this or that. What is the appendix for? Why do we sneeze when we look at the sun? Why does your little finger hurt when you bump your elbow? --but it's lots of fun. I think it gives insight into our ancestors' tribulations as well.

Good luck on getting an answer you like.

How can I prevent dry skin?

I tend to have very dry skin, especially after showering. I am most concerned about this with respect to my face. After I shave, I can put lotion on my face and that usually helps for a while, although after a few hours the area around my chin starts to dry up and peel (I know, this is a bit gross). Anyway, I would like to grow a beard, but I have trouble doing so because any time I take a shower my face gets extremely dry and starts flaking, almost like "beard dandruff". I can't put lotion on it, because there is a beard in the way, and even if I use a dandruff shampoo on the beard, it does nothing. Any ideas?

How can I prevent dry skin?
hmm... do you often showering under HOT water? if you do.. stop doing so as hot water deprives the skin from moisture. try changing to lukewarm or cool showers.

or, maybe you could use bath soap that is sensitive skin friendly..

as for your face problem, you could splash cold water on your face after being washed with hot water.. PAT dry with a soft cloth and rub some sunblock on.. bizarre i know.. but it helps my dry skin.. hmm.. or try using some vitamin E cream.. it helps to rejuvenate the skin...
Reply:dry skin shows that you are mostly dehydrated. You may not be thirsty but dehydration comes first before thirst. Try to drink a lot of water everyday...applying lotion just after shower also helps.
Reply:try s mix of rose water n glycerin
Reply:Try goats milk soap. My husband uses it and it works great.
Reply:wash with green tea face soap body shop,uk
Reply:I get really dry skin too!!! Do you wash your face? If so, what do you use? Don't use soap, it will only make your skin worse. Have you ever tried exfoliating? You should buy a gentle exfoliate and exfoliate every other day. If that's too irritating, do it a couple times a week. This will help slough off dead skin cells. As for products to use, try these:

Higher end products:

-Clinique dramatically different moisturizing lotion for face (my #1!!!). You can usually return higher end products if they don't work or make you break out, just ask the department store first.

-Serious Skin Care Olive Oil line (Check out www.seriousskincare.com) They offer great, quality products for face and body.

Drug Store Products:

-Glaxal base (a little thick but it works and you can use it all over- face and body)

-Aveno (my excema disappeared!)

If you still have the problem, you should really see your doctor as you might have a skin condition. Good luck!
Reply:Try using a moisturing body wash, %26amp; a GOOD moisturing body lotion. I'd wait until I "fixed" the dry skin problem on your face before I tried to grow a beard. Slather on the body lotion whenever you see your skin becoming dry, try in for a couple of weeks, if this dosen't work, go see a dermatologist!
Reply:I'm watching this question, I have the exact same problem and have no clue what to do - but i've noticed soap drys your face out more - so don't use soap on your face EVERYTIME you go to the bathroom - just try washing with plain water sometime.
Reply:that maens your body needs oil, inside and outside both. first do oil massage your body and take showers withluke worm water. second eat a bit of oil in your food like butter, olive oil, fish oil capsules, healthy food which has some fat in it. donot take boiled foods i mean without fat.
Reply:While you're taking a shower, put hair conditioner on your skin. it helps to moisturize dry skin and is cheaper than lotion if you get the cheap stuff. it works the same as the expensive stuff. White Rain brand isn't filmy and it's cheap. I know this because i use it when i shave my legs. it might also make your beard softer.

It also seems to have been written by someone who just could not reconcile the Church's teachings with his/her desires and lifestyles -- thus, he/she needed a "way out" from his/her obligations as a Catholic, and found that "way out" by convincing him/herself that the Church was a sham.

What is a really good skin care regimen?

Im 21.I have normal/combination skin.I am currently using Clinique 3 step. But the toner tends to dry my skin a little,so i want to try something new.Any suggestions?.I have occasional breakouts.( during that time of the month).SO what is a really good skin care regimen that will also prevent wrinkles, and what not.THANX:)

What is a really good skin care regimen?
drink lots of water, and use normal cleanser, and be sure to use an oil free moisturizer, because your skin gets overdry, then your oil glands try to over-compensate for it, and you get oily skin again really fast. i hope everything here helped!!
Reply:drinks lots of water and use Aveeno cleansing pads, and never sleep in makeup...
Reply:ALmay is amazing they have your skin type go to almay dot com and youll find it

i promise
Reply:Biore is very good and inexpensive. Just use the gel cleanser and the warming moisturizer in the morning before you put on your makeup and at night before you go to bed. Also, Noxema isn't too shabby, either.
Reply:It's too long for me to explain how to care for your skin better but have fun and go to this website. It teaches us about our skin and what we didn't know and how we can care for them and the different types of skin. Normal-to-oily, delicate, moisture rich types. HOW IT AGES, WHY IT AGES, HOW WE CAN BETTER PROTECT IT. http://www.artistry.com/en/skincare/the-...

go here also http://cgarcia1.qbeautyzone.com/products... this is what I use and I absolutely love it. I've stopped breakingout. If you refuse to use these brands just cleanse your face with a facial cleanser which takes away dirt and toning tightens your pores and takes away what the cleanser could not wash off this also prevents future breakouts and also you should be moisturizing. Our skin needs to be hydrated to prevent wrinkles.

I learned that we breakout because our pores are large and produce more oil. So the smaller you can get your pores to be the less breakouts you will have. Hope the website above has helped you.
Reply:I never sleep with my makeup on and drink plenty of water and stay out of the sun, perhaps use a moisturiser with an SPF. Always wash your hands before you even consider touching your face and keep hair away from face as this spreads oils that cause spots, especially if you take care of your hair using products such as hair serum, or just styling products. I find a lot of products very drying but also if I use something too moisturising I break out in spots (especially around that time of month). A very good cleansing routine should consist of 1) eye makeup removal. 2) cleanser. 3) toner. 4) moisturiser. And if needed 5) tea tree oil used on 'problem areas'. I use L'oreal products as they don't dry my skin or over moisturise. L'oreal gentle eye makeup remover, L'oreal Plenitude re-nourish cleanser, L'oreal Plenitude re-nourish toner, L'oreal Hydrafresh moisturiser and Boots tea tree oil if needed. It's best to stick to one product brand and range of brand for your skincare routine as these products are designed with ingredients to work together. Also you will need non fleecing cotton wool. It's also helps to have a good diet of fresh fruit and veg and foods with natural oils and fats such as oily fish (mackeral) advocado and almonds. You should also exfoliate your face once a week with a wet soapy (I just use palmolive shower gel) natural sea sponge in small circular motions. If you do all of this you should have pretty good skin. A personal life saver of mine is hyrdocortisone which can be purchased over the counter named HC45 but that is because I used to suffer with eczema as a teen - this gets rid of really dry skin in literally one day! But use with care as hydrocortisone thins the skin and my doctor always advised me to try using this as little as possible on my face. Also I sometimes use Biore nose pore blackhead removing strips if blackheads become noticable, but dont spend hours trying to squeeze this out as you often end up looking worse after than you did before! Vaseline is good for lips, keep a supply of that! And try never to use foundation or face power etc... I only use blusher on my face and pay more attention to my eye makeup as this is the focal point of everyones face! Good luck.
Reply:I am 22 and I use Mary Kay. I use the Timewise 3-in-1 Cleanser and Moisturizer. The best thing about this is that it comes in two formulas. Normal to Dry and Combination to Oily. I have Oily Skin so I use the second one.

I use it in the morning and at night. I also use there Day and Night Solution. The Day solution is a serum you put on before your moisturizer and it has SPF 35 in it. The night solution gets put on the same way as the day but it rebuilds collagen and elasticity. I love the way it makes my skin feel.

In the morning I will put on a Foundation also to help protect against pollution and from the harmful effects of the outdoors.

Anything with a TimeWise label on it in Mary Kay is anti-aging, which I love. If you have more questions about it please let me know ( I sell it too LOL).

I need help finding a new skin care routine?

Ok, I have been using this routine for a while now and I think it's time to change it. Because some of the products aren't working as well as they used to.Right now i'm using:

Cetaphil moisturizer for dry sensitive skin - This stuff saved my skin during the winter. But it tends to make my skin feel oily and sometimes i'll break out.Occasionaly I'll use Neutrogena oil-free moisture - I love the fact that it has sunscreen so I can wear it for when I go outside but the only drawback is it doesn't really moisturize my skin it gets flaky.I have mild acne just mostly blackheads so I use Clean%26amp;clear Advantage acne spot treatment -Sometimes it works well sometimes it doesn't i've also tried benzoal peroxide and I didn't like that.So thats what I use.. If you feel I should remove anything or add something please let me know what product and where you can get it I prefer getting it from cvs.I heard your supposed to be using a brightening serum and I want to use an antiaging cream like olay

I need help finding a new skin care routine?
My advice is this - try using the clear advantage system by Arbonne - it's 100% pure and natural OR their intelligence line which is 100% pure and natural and self adjusts to all skin types - and use the acne regime you have now on break out sessions (hormonal) I bet you will agree there is no better product for your regime on the market. Whatever you do find make sure it contains no mineral oils - and has a wash, toner and eye cream and repeat at night with a night cream.
Reply:You can use what you call 3-in-1 Timewise, this sort of product clear's the skin, stops breakouts, has spf, and last but not least age-fighting.

Email me if you want to know where to get it.
Reply:The 3-1 TimeWise cleanser is excellent advice. First off, don't mix skin care brands. They are not chemically formualted to work together, this is more than likely what is changing your skin type. TimeWise is Mary Kay brand. The Basic set consists of Cleasing, exfoliating and freshening, along with moisturizing, and fountation for your skins protection. I suggest finding a Mary Kay beauty consultant in you area to help you. Good Luck!
Reply:Have you ever heard of Arbonne? www.arbonne.com It is truly incredible. I use it and it has cleared up my breakouts and reduced my lines and wrinkles. I use a combination of the Anti-Aging line and the Intelligence line because, like you, i needed a line that didn't make me feel oily! I work with a woman who was with Mary Kay for 20 years, and she recently switched and is working with Arbonne becuause "It is simply the best thing she has ever tried". If you would like I can have Louise send you a sample.

I have semi-oily skin, what should I do?

Currently I put a layer of baby powder on in the morning and when I get home from school to help absorb it but it tend to dry out the skin around my nostrils and eyebrows.

I have semi-oily skin, what should I do?
OILY SKIN

You can do the following things for your semi-oily skin

1.- SKIN CARE AND MAKEUP FOR OILY COMPLEXIONS

a.- Some people think that removing oil from the face is like washing it from dishes: they use the harshest soap and the hottest water to get their skin "squeaky clean". They never moisturize, and may even wipe their skin with alcohol to dry it out. The bad news is that if you treat your oily skin with harshness, it will redouble its efforts to protect itself—it will actually start to produce more oil to cope with what it feels are harsh environmental conditions!

b.- Wash your face, but use a gentle soap and lukewarm water, and don't rub or scrub. Treat your skin with love and compassion, and it will respond positively.

c.- Use an oil-free moisturizer to keep your skin protected, and protect it further by using a moisturizer that contains sunscreen.

d.- Keep the shine blotted down by using powdered mineral makeup, which is guaranteed to give you a matte finish without clogging pores. At the end of the day, remove your makeup with a gentle, alcohol-free toner, wash your face gently, and reapply moisturizer before bed.

--------------------------------------...

2.- NATURAL BEAUTY PRODUCT SUGGESTIONS FOR OILIER SKIN

a.- Oil free moisturizers usually contain glycerin and water, and some of the best products also contain tea extracts and oatmeal.

b.- Oatmeal has long been recognized as a soothing skin care product, and when used as a mask can brighten your skin without drying it out too much. Companies like Aveeno are making oatmeal based moisturizers and makeup that work wonderfully to care for the skin. Beauty tips columns always contain the oatmeal facial mask as a remedy for oily skin. Just puree oatmeal with a little water, wipe on the skin, allow to dry most but not all they way, and rinse off.

c.- Check out moisturizers containing alpha lipoic acid, which may decrease the oil in your skin after a short time of use.

d.- Luckily, caring for your oily skin has never been easier, since a tremendous range of products ensures that there's something for everyone.

e.- Gentle treatment, the right oil-control makeup and proper nutrition can help prevent oily skin.

--------------------------------------...

3.- DOES DIET AND NUTRITION CONTRIBUTE TO SKIN OILS?

a.- Junk food like chips, high fat, high salt burgers and other fried foods may impact your skin as they do your entire body.

b.- If you're a junk food junkie and have oily skin , take a month off from your favorite foods to see if your skin condition improves.

Reply:Skin Care for Oily Skin

The great advantage of oily skin is that it ages at a slower rate than other skin types.

Oily skin needs special cleansing with plenty of hot water and soap to prevent the pores from being clogged. Avoid harsh products that strip your skin of oil and encourage flakiness. They can cause a reaction known as reactive seborrhoea, where the oil glands work overtime to compensate for the loss of natural oils.

Avoid skincare products that leave your skin feeling taut and dehydrated. They cause the upper layers of the skin to shrink. This restricts oil flow through the pores leading to blockages and breakouts.

To cleanse oily skin, use oil-based products as they dissolve sebum effectively. Opt for oil-free moisturizers to maintain a shine-free complexion.

Keep your skin very clean. Limit washing your face to two or three times a day. Too much washing will stimulate your skin to produce more oil.

Choose your cleanser with care. Avoid heavy cleansing creams. Avoid the use of harsh soaps or cleansers. Use a pure soap with no artificial additives. Try an antibacterial cleansing lotion or a lightly medicated soap, and use it in combination with a water rich in minerals, not tap water. Do not use cleansers or lotions that contain alcohol. After cleansing, apply a natural oil-free moisturizer to keep the skin supple.

Use hot water when washing your face. Hot water dissolves skin oil better than lukewarm or cold water.

If your skin is extremely oily, three or four daily cleansings may be in order and little or no moisturizing necessary before you are 30 years old. After that point, the skin around your eyes and mouth and on your throat may benefit from a nightly moisturizing, plus a mere touch of moisturizer in the morning.

When cleansing, massage your face well with your fingertips, using an upward and outward motion. Be careful not to rub soap into the skin; it can clog pores.

If your oily skin is scaly, you can often correct the problem by using a deep-cleaning exfoliant on alternate nights, and following the treatment with a light coating of moisturizer.

Try using a clay or mud mask. If you have sensitive skin, use white or rose-colored clays.

Use a light antiseptic night cream from time to time if you wish, and apply a clarifying mask one or two times a week.

Choose cosmetic and facial care products specifically designed for oily skin.

Before applying makeup, use an antiseptic day cream with active ingredients that diminish sebaceous secretions. Look for benzyl peroxide in the list of active ingredients.

Use a light antiseptic night cream from time to time if you wish, and apply a clarifying mask one or two times a week.

Natural Skincare

Half an hour before taking your bath apply on your face half teaspoon each of lime and cucumber juice mixed together.

If your skin is excessively oily, mix in a few drops of eau de cologne. This not only helps keep oiliness away but also helps in refining the pores of the skin by acting as astringent, thereby preventing acne.

To prevent the problem of your makeup becoming patchy either on the forehead, chin or nose due to excessive oiliness in these areas, apply a little cucumber juice on the excessively oily parts of your face, dry thoroughly and then apply your makeup.

If your whole face turns patchy after makeup is applied on it, then apply equal parts of lime juice and witch-hazel. Dry well before putting on your makeup.

Choose an astringent that contains acetone, which is known for dissolving oil. Strong astringents will do more harm than good, stimulating an overproduction of oil.

To clear away excess oil, use a clay or mud mask. Blend together well 1 teaspoon green clay powder and 1 teaspoon raw honey. Apply the mixture to your face, avoiding the eye area. Leave it on for fifteen minutes, then rinse well with lukewarm water. Do this at least three times a week--or more.

Once or twice daily, mix equal parts of lemon juice and water together. Pat mixture on your face and allow it to dry, then rinse with warm water. Follow with a cool-water rinse.
Reply:An oily skin , as the name implies, is one in which the sebaceous or oil-producing glands are over active. As surface grease tends to attract dirt, an oily skin acquires a dirty surface film , that needs to be removed daily. For more details log to http://useinfo-oilyskin.blogspot.com/

Will i have oily skin until i'm old?

i tend to have really oily skin. will this go away later or is it permanent?

Will i have oily skin until i'm old?
I am 38 and still get oil in the T-Zone on my face. Wrinkles and oil....life is so unfair. lol
Reply:Listen, these thing pass!
Reply:i don't think so
Reply:It should gradually fade away.

Reply:it really depends. Everyone has different skin. The best thing i can say to do is go get some oil free wash.. it helps mine.
Reply:I had oily skin as a teenager now well let's just say I'm over 25 %26amp; my skin is dry.
Reply:No. Your pH levels change as you grow older.

That expains why we don't see 60-year old ladies with zits.
Reply:you didn't say how old you are. I am 45 and have oily skin as if i were a teen. The upside of it is that I won't ever have wrinkles which are caused by dry skin.
Reply:It will get much less oily beginning in your 20's. It may stay a tiny bit oily. Look to your parents and see what their skin is like...chances are yours will do what theirs did. Feel lucky though....oily skin wrinkles much later in life. It's dry skin that wrinkles early!
Reply:The older you get, the dryer your skin gets.

some effects fro how you do skin care, sun care and diet and health too.

oily skin now usually means younger looking later.

im nearly 50 with combo/oily skin but almost no wrinkles

:%26gt;)
Reply:It will dry out gradually.
Reply:How old are you? I'm 37 and I had really oily skin when I was a teenager up into my 20's but then it gets better. If you have acne with it see a dermatologist and there is topical medication they can give you.
Reply:I believe it will normally go away after your teen years, however not for everyone. I'm 50 and still plagued with oily skin. Medications and topical applications can make it better. If you also have acne, that will probably leave you even if the oily skin does not. Hang in there! It could be worse.
Reply:Mine is still a bit oily, (not like when I was a teenager)but I think it helps prevent me from wrinkling, now that I am older.
Reply:It is more than likely permanent. Oily skin can be helped with special beauty tips. I listed a web site for reference. The positive thing about oily skin is you will age a lot less than your friends do. I just turned 40 and have always had oily skin which I have learned how to keep under control. But, I do not have wrinkles around my eyes or lips yet like all of my friends. People think I am a lot younger than I really am. So, count your blessings!
Reply:As you age, your skin will get less oily. It is hormones that cause the majority of the oil production. And to the person who told you it's permanent, IT IS NOT! As you get into your late thirties and forties, the skin tends to thin and become drier. When you get beyond that, it really gets dry, although it may always retain a miniscule amount of oil, especcially in the summer months when it is hot and humid outside. I had oily skin in my teens (very oily) and now that I am MUCH older, I look ten years younger than what I actually am. Be thankful for your oily skin!
Reply:As you get older, some of the oil will dry up - but %26amp; this is a biggie! - if you have oily skin then you will tend not to wrinkle as badly as someone who has dry skin. No kidding - it keeps your skin younger looking. So even though it's a pain in the butt at times, there might come a day when you'll be glad you had oily skin!!! I know - I don't look anywhere near my actual age!
Reply:My mom's 64 and her oily skin is still oily (maybe somewhat less so than when she was 34, though.) The upside is that she has very few wrinkles because of it so she looks a lot younger than she is!
Reply:your skin will probably be oily your whole life, but the oil will decrease as you get older and will also keep the wrinkles at bay. i'm 33 and i still get carded at bars. remember to keep moisturized now though. if you try to dry it out, it'll overcompensate and get even oilier. find a non-oily moisturizer.

and clean your face several times a day. do you know what works awesome? baby wipes. i'm not kidding. they clean and moisturize at the same time and you can put them in a baggie in your purse. just make sure to get the unscented ones.
Reply:my best friend is italian and her whole family has oily skin. But thats not a bad thing, her mother is 54 and does not have one wrinkle on her face. All of them look great! u can only hope to have oily skin the rest of ur life
Reply:I would suggest washing your face with clean and clear,it will help control oily skin but if you do nothing about it then you will have oily skin for a really long time.
Reply:i think it will go away sooner or later
Reply:well, i don't think so. But generally people with oily skin when they're younger have less wwrinkles later. That's what happened with my mom.
Reply:i also had this fear when i was a teenager but it will pass really. your skin will produce more oil when you're still young but as soon as you mature/age and with the help of newly improved beauty products, you will be able to control the oil on your skin, lessen any pimples and will regulate your skin to be more nourished and supple.
Reply:everybody has different skin, bt there are products specially formulated for your needs...
