Are redheaded women the least desired because of their skin blemishes?

Redheads tend to have weird skin discolorations, freckles, and ultra-pale skin.

Is there surgery to remove their freckles or are redheaded women hopelessly ugly?

Are redheaded women the least desired because of their skin blemishes?
no, but you can get laser abrasion treatments to remove freckles. you can die hair to match pale skin. or you can simply tan and maybe you will feel more attractive. good luck!
Reply:After seeing Nicole Kidman, I tend to disagree with your overall evaluation.
Reply:don't be so narrow minded - if you don't like redheads, fine - doesn't mean everyone feels that way, and there are plenty of attractive and UNattractive people with all hair colors -you're probably not perfect
Reply:Would you call Rita Hayworth, Katherine Hepburn and Nicole Kidman hopelessly ugly? Don't be so silly.
Reply:i think who you are is who you are

and to stick with it

and make your difference in the world before you have to leave it

i think MIGHT get rid of freckles

but-i think u should stick with who you are no matter what
Reply:I happen to be a redhead, and that doesn't mean that all redheaded women are ugly.
Reply:are you kidding me? I think redheads are so pretty.

According to some studies, redheads have the highest number of people who have the most sex. lol. So if their having more sex than blondes and brunnettes, it seems to me they are more desired.
Reply:I think freckles are an amazingly beautiful addition to a woman's skin. While blemish-free, pure skin tones are, often, a standard of beauty in most cultures, I find that a nice spread of freckels on the face and shoulders of women of ALL ethnicities, a wonderfully interesting phenomenon.

You, sir, are a fool, and are missing out on an entire segment of feminine charms.

Keep your prejudices. More for me!
Reply:personally, I think Red heads are beautiful, if I was you i wouldn't change a thing. Alot of guys fine redheads very attractive.
Reply:All i'm going to say is redheads are beautiful (as are every colour). But i got to say, I think red hair looks amazing. It's a unique beautiful colour. it's great that redheads have freckles, pale skin, etc. So, they may bruise easier, but not exactly a DISASTER.

People should just accept themselves....i'd love to be a redhead...we all have different ideas of beauty.

Personally, i think freckles are gorgeous =) so why remove them?

If someone is really concerned, they should use makeup, like Lindsay LOhan..she is covered in freckles on her arms, shoulders, face, etc but covers them up with makeup, tan etc

Well, hope this helped.

=)
Reply:Heyy.. i know that everyone is entitled to their own opinion but that is just mean. I am a redhead and ok i have freckles but I like them, they are my little sunkisses! And my skin looks really clear and smooth so I don't know what your talking about. Also I love the colour of my hair.. its kind of dark red not orange more red and it stands out in a crowd. All my friends say my hair color is beautiful and I have lovely skin. You cant just label redheads as ugly.. thats not fair!

I totally agree with you Jessica- !!!
Reply:Whoever said freckles are ugly?
Reply:I like redheads better than blonds or brunettes and I love freckles
Reply:Uh how rude of you. You are just bitter towards redheads because your spouse probably cheated on you with one.

Why do people link beauty with skin colour?

Many people when they talk and the strangest thing is they are not themselves white or blond, they tend to see fair skin, coloured eyes, straight and blond hairs as the most beautiful attributes.

Isn't that a slave mentality? What do you personally think about this type of behaviour?

Why do people link beauty with skin colour?
I think people that think like that are being narrow minded. I see at least some beauty in every woman of every adult age regardless of color or race or hair color.
Reply:You chose a good answer. There is beauty in every person, and it doesn't matter what color your skin is. I think people who look only at a person's outside appearance and not at the spirit within are very closed minded, and are deeply plugged into sensory pleasure. Report It

Reply:to many close minded people who can't see beauty for what it really is
Reply:because they are crazy, but there are a few colored selection of people who are beautiful it all depends on the type of people that person likes. everyones diffrent cha kno
Reply:Slave mentality.
Reply:yes. it is a slave mentality.
Reply:it is not true actually those people considered to be stupid.and beauty is in eye of beholder,a lot out there black white or yellow are beautiful.
Reply:Unfortunately not everyone thinks the way you and I do.. Lots of narrow minded people
Reply:people have different tastes...what you are describing is the medias portrayal of beauty, which is distorted and disgusting... Everyone is different, some people think breasts are the most important, while others think feet are what makes or breaks a woman. skin color the same way, most black girls i see are kinda ugly (bone facial structure and stuff...) but i have seen some VERY beautiful black women (i am a white male FYI) But ultimately, a womans personality is what is the final say in whether i think shes beautiful or not, not race, or hair, or eyes or skin...
Reply:Beauty lies inside the eye of another youthful dream

That doesnt sell its soul for self-esteem

Beauty lies inside desire and every wayward heart redeemed

Dont forget to be the way you are

Dont go and sell your soul for self-esteem

forgot which group's lyrics this is but it perfectly says wat i wanted to convey!
Reply:Difficult to generalize, but individual preferences run the entire range of possibility, there really isn't a "norm" when it comes to what people find attractive. The idea of only socializing with your own tribe/ethnic group is an artificial social constraint and very much part of the slave mentality. If anything, evolution favors mixing the gene pool.

Sure, mass media has played a role in promoting certain images of beauty but the modeling industry today is very diverse, and I think it's more fundamental than that.

In most cases it's simply an attraction to the exotic, people finding attributes which they don't commonly see in themselves or their daily lives as something desirable. Just like some white men are obsessed with black women, and some asian men have a thing for blondes, it's just not unusual or noteworthy.

The age-old saying- opposites attract! It's true...
Reply:I don't think it's a slave mentality, just a preference for beauty, or, more likely, the media pounding a certain beauty standard into our brains. It's sad that more people of color don't see their skin tones as beautiful, but merely holding a preference for that which you are not doesn't mean you're being discriminatory or self-depricating.

I find height and long limbs beautiful, but I don't possess them- does that make me not love myself? No, I can appreciate shorter and closer together, but I can still hold the ideal of beauty.

It's just very hard to dictate aesthetics, you know?
Reply:i guess thats the new thing now that everyone likes
Reply:It's not slave mentality. All societies have standards of beauty.

In America, Hollywood introduced the idea of the blonde bombshell. The image has lasted because it has a carefree personality associated with it. Dark hair and features have a more brooding, serious nature associated with them.

But, you're wrong. Most people do not prefer light skin and blonde hair.

Anyone have experience wtih white splotches on skin?

I tend to have olive skin and was out in the sun quite a bit a few weeks ago. I did have sun block on but still got a little red on my chest and shoulders. I peeled in just a few places there but very little. Now I have about 2 dime sized white splotches on each shoulder and about 4 of them all in one area on my chest. I have been out in the sun since (with SPF 45) and the spots don't seem to tan at all even though the rest of my skin gets darker. I would appreciate any info you have. Thanks!

Anyone have experience wtih white splotches on skin?
It can be dried skin, if you pill it off and small things come out, than is dried skin if it don't you might have a skin condition call vitoligal. you should go to a dermatologist and find out what it is......I have it to and they got creams to treat it.

you can't go under the sun from 12 to 3 or 4 o'clock in the afternoon. you will be ok they got treatment for that.

But Michael Jackson has that too.

I have dry skin on my face. What foundations are there that are specially suited for this problem?

It's only dry on the surface as I've also got acne and tend to get oily skin some hours after washing.

I have dry skin on my face. What foundations are there that are specially suited for this problem?
don't worry about makeup just yet..try whipping your skin into shape. putting foundation on dry skin shows the dry flakes and foundation on acne will cause it break out more...so bad combo. try proactiv to condition your skin first! good luck
Reply:you don't need foundation and don't use it. the more you use it, the more you're face will break out. first learn to clean and take care of you face and then, other make-up and beauty products will work on your face.
Reply:Try Mary Kay
Reply:I have the same problem,I have used much brands but anything worked, now I`m using BOURJOIS foundation,it is good,I have acne too,I have tried many creams tratements but nothing,Now I`m doing my own treatement, every night before sleeping I take some Wool you know that are made bluses, and one soap Dove, and I take some foam of soap and I masage the skin of my face. After 2 minutes i wash my face.Trust me it works very much,I started this treatment before 4 days and I see that some of the acne that I had are gone. Please make the same you ,too.
Reply:try netrogina exfoliant first then use conditioner like olay or MK
Reply:Mary Kay Dual-Coverage Powder Foundation
Reply:Any foundation will work as long as you use a facial scrub or something to exfoliate your face before applying foundation, also apply moisturizer beforehand also, if not there are foundations with added moisturizers, just have a look around a few shops.
Reply:Its not the foundation thats causing the problem. You need to start taking care of your skin. U should be exfolliating 2-3 times a week for the dryness and using a moisturiser that contains either algae or seaweed to slow down oil production you should also use a clay setting mask 2-3 times a week for purifying to draw out excess oil and help with the acne.
Reply:well I suggest you exfoliate with a good brand and then use a nice moisturiser, the put on your foundation x x
Reply:MARY KAY is terrific for dry skin. My skin used to peel until I started using it umpteen years ago.
Reply:I would use a primer. I like Laura Mercier and Smashbox. You can find them at sephora.com
Reply:LOTION ever hear !!
Reply:You should not wear makeup to much until you get your skin healthier. Cleanse, exfoliate, tone, mask, tone, moisterize. Morning and Night. Check the back of your products when you buy them. DO NOT use if it has alchool in it this bother acne conditions and make it worse on dry skin. Try to where little to no make up until it's a little better. It sounds like your skin is dehydrated DRINK H2O !!!

But try using oil free makeup or even just a tinted moisterizer. Proactiv really helps if you are willing to pay that much for it.
Reply:You can use LOREAL and JERGANS. They work pretty well.
Reply:Avon has Some Anew facial products which you can put on in the am and in the pm...the pm has spf in it to help even more... they are absolutely wonderful. They also have some conceilers as well.
Reply:IM NOT SURE BUT NEVER USE LOTION IT CAN MAKE THE PROBLEM WORSE I ADVISE SEE A SPECIALIST AND ASK FOR THEIR ADVISE
Reply:exfoliate to remove dead cells and moisturize

if u can use a foundation with moiturizer in it that would be ideal. if not make sure to apply moitsturizer wen wearing make up

an idea is clean and clear oilless moitsturising mist.
Reply:AVON has came out with the first.... Moisturizing Cover-up
Reply:Rimmel Hydrasense concealer and also hydrasense foudation. But always have a god skin care routine and use products suitable for combination skin if you have both oily and dry patches. Be gentle on your skin as harsh products will over dry your skin and also cause an over production of oils. ask at a beauty counter at a store for some advice on products but dont be swayed into buying the most expensive as its not neccesary as a lot of cheaper stuff works as good if not better.
Reply:tinted moisturiser is better
Reply:actually it's not the make up it's the moisturizer, i had that same problem, try a moisturizer before switching makeup!

My underarm skin has turned black, how can i get it to normal shade again?

i used to use hair removal creams previously, now i have switched to waxing.

i heard that hair removal creams tend to make ur skin darker in that area, is it true.

how can i get it bac to normal, its very embarrasing n i cant wear any sleeve less clothes.

My underarm skin has turned black, how can i get it to normal shade again?
You see, waxing or plucking can contribute to the darkening of your armpits because these bring trauma to your skin.To help improve the complexion, you must first try to avoid these practice. You can go back to your hair removal creams (but be sure the one you're using is compatible to your skin type or else you will get allergic to it ) or you may want to undergo a laser treatment (particularly Alexandrite laser..I have tried it and it works ..for one session..no hair growth for one month.) You can also try applying bleaching creams. They also work well but gradually. Hope this helps. God bless
Reply:Bleaching creams
Reply:I am aware that there are prescription creams available to help with hyperpigmentation. There might be one available over-th-counter as well. You could ask in the cosmetics section of a store like Macy's or Nieman-Marcus. Or see a dermatologist for the prescription. Be sure to tell them you have skin allergies so you are given something hypoallergenic.

Biting and picking at cuticles and the skin on my fingers.....?

It's been many years since i got into the habit of picking skin off my cuticles and i was wondering if anyone knows how to stop it. Sometimes i don't even realise i'm doing it until i've gone thorugh so many layers of skin that it hurts to pick at it any more. My fingers look terrible and occasionally, if i go too far, they bleed. I also tend to bite the skin around my nails, which makes it worse. Does anyone know how to stop the habit??

Biting and picking at cuticles and the skin on my fingers.....?
Stop it! If you knew how many germs were at the ends of your fingers, you would never put those in your mouth again.

And if any guys knew what you were putting in your mouth, they wouldn't kiss you.

Just stop. Keep your hands busy and when you notice that you are doing it, STOP. Nothing or nobody will stop it for you. It's up to you. This is where you find out how strong of a person you can be.

I had to find out how strong I could be when I couldn't walk or talk or think or eat with a spoon or use the bathroom. It was hard, but I did it. Biting my stupid fingernails would be the least of my concerns. That would be so easy to stop - just stop. At least you're not falling down trying to walk again. Remember that and stop biting your nails. Don't put your fingers in your mouth - ever again. That is for babies.
Reply:there is something you can apply to the cuticles that dissolves the dead skin then it wouldnt annoy you and hopefully you mught start looking after them better

try at the shops where they sell makeup.

go to the local college every week and have a manicure

Can sweat cause major problems to the skin? For example making it black etc.?

Some people have sweat which are somewhat acidic. These people tend to have dark skin around area which produces most sweat for example armpits, thighs etc. They may cause the skin look hideous. Some cannot wear silver products (even pure silver) because they will turn black really really quickly. Anyone knows how to prevent the skin from going black or curing it?

leave on skin for a minute before washing off.

Blotchy skin tone on my face?

hi im filipino and they tend to have blotchy-skin tones. is there a lotion that will make it even and maybe on the darker than lighter side without using foundation?thnx...

oh, and if u want me to use a founation, which kind? or...whatever...

Blotchy skin tone on my face?
Mineral makeup is best, it's very natural, has awesome wear-ability, is non-cosmogenic, and is oil free, but please think twice before using Bare Minerals (aka Bare Escentuals) OR Sheer Cover! These products contain bismuth which is NOT a healthy mineral and NOT at all recommended for sensitive skin! It resembles arsenic!!! I used this makeup not knowing this fact and it caused me a very bad allergic reaction!

Bismuth (IPA: [ˈbɪzməθ]) is a chemical element that has the symbol Bi and atomic number 83. This heavy, brittle, white crystalline trivalent poor metal has a pink tinge and chemically resembles arsenic and antimony.

I found this makeup and have been using it for 2 years now! It's wonderful! They have 17 foundation colors (way more then the competitors so one is sure to blend and cover your skin flawlessly!) and 5 different finishing powders, choose the one for you skin type! Plus they have over 45 eye shadows! It really works well!

They are also MUCH cheaper then the 'big' name companies!

They're cruelty free and totally vegan!

Plus they offer free shipping to the Continental US!

International customers please email for a free shipping quote! (Just include the items you would like and your location!)

Reply:I use proactiv....I had blotchy pale skin....I had reds and browns and such in my face and it was soooo uneven...so I started cleansing my face with proactiv and I used the repairing lotion and it evend out my skin tone in just a few months...I stopped using it and started tanning outdoors and stuff and the blotches came back....so I"m starting to use it again to fix it....I'd recommend that...
Reply:Hi, you should use a cleanser that exfoliates the dead skin. Try a cleanser that contains Alpha-Hydroxy because that will help to even out the blotchiness. Also, blotchiness is usually caused by the sun, so make sure you apply a moisturizer daily that contains spf. I am half black, half white and I have had my fair share of blotchiness. I use a St Ives Hydroxy mask maybe once a week...but I really recommend Neutrogena products because they are fairly inexpensive and work really well.
Reply:Bare Minerals is great for blotchy skin tones. It covers up flaws very well and makes your complexion look clean and lightweight.
Reply:You should try some mineral makeup from LAminerals.com It is really good and smooths out your complexion without being heavy. Feels like you are wearing no makeup at all.

Their Hollywood foundation covers a lil more than the NoHoGlo one, but I use them both, sometimes together.

My friend has problems with his skin.He doesn't get spots, but more like small, red sacbby sores? What is it?

They aren't greasy pussy spots (sorry to be so graphic, lol) but more like scabs/sores. He cleans his skin very often (not TOO often) but doesnt use alot of skin products as they tend to make his skin worse/he gets allergic reactions. What are these sores?

you did not mention if these sores were itchy ..

Has your friend been tested for things such as scabies or mites?

I tend to get dry skin on my face. I always have peely skin in the morning. I bought expensive products to help but works for a little bit. I've used ton of other products but nothing does the job. It isn't really dry but peely like especially after putting on foundation. I tried different foundations also but nothing still. Suggestions?

NEVER put baby oil on your face!!! that can cause other problems such as breakouts!!!!!!

Reply:You don't say which products you are currently using but you may need a mask to remove the dead skin cells from your face. Or a microdermabrasion set. As far as foundation goes, liquid will work best as it won't show the dry skin as much as a cream to powder, or loose or pressed powder will. Mary Kay has very good products to help with this problem and I can just send you samples of a few different products to try (at no charge of course) if you're interested. Email me or checkout my website: www.marykay.com/kmicek (no obligation to buy and I promise I will not continue to harass you!!!)
Reply:Get some curel lotion, the original its in a blue bottle. its a bit spendy but worth it, you have to take care of your skin you live in it. also the most important is to mix it with a product called biosilk, if you mix it with the curel about 1/4 biosilk to 3/4 curel. once your skin starts to get healthy you can change it to your personal mix. also of i were you i would add a bit of some vitamin e oil in it for a while.

Exfoliate with swiss ives apricot scrub 2-3x per week, i use it daily but i like the way it makes my skin feel. some people say to only exfoliate 1x per week i say do it when you need to.
Reply:Try not to apply too much cream. Wash your face day and night with cleaning milk (not cleaning gel/ form). Apply day cream and night cream and lip balm as usual. Do a moisturizing mask twice per week. If you sleep in A/C or heating room, try to plave a small glass of water next to your bed when you go to bed. It could help to maintain the humidity in the room and your face won't be very dry in the morning.
Reply:you can apply a vitamine E cream.

wash your face with non detergent based face wash

Dry winter skin?

I have really dry skin in the winter. My face is dry itchy and peeling. Can anyone suggest a good lotion for my face? I tend to have oily skin, and my oil free face lotion is not working so well during the winter. I need something that isn't heavy and absorbs quickly. Thanks!

Dry winter skin?
Eucerin
Reply:My bg bro uses eucerin and cetaphil. there's a lotion and a soap bar for cetaphil. if u do get cetaphil, get the blue one because the green one doesn't smell all that good.
Reply:About the face try milk lotion it works really well.
Reply:I like Pond's for dry sensitive skin. It is not greasy and goes on smooth. Hope you try it
Reply:I have really oily skin and use clean and clear oil free moisturizer for my face, it works well but sometimes my nose still gets shiny
Reply:You have combination skin. Use a moisturizer made for combination skin type. I love clinique total turnaround visible skin renewal. They make it for all facial types and it's worth the money.
Reply:Use some baby lotion. If you`re near adulthood, then you should go for the baby lotion for adults (that sounded weird). Baby lotion really works for me (especially since I have bad skin).
Reply:I like Burts Bees milk and honey body lotion, it's good for the face too.
Reply:Try original curel in the blue bottle, it's a bit spendy but worth it. If your skin is still dry add 1/4 glycerin (you get this in the bandage section of your local drug store) to 3/4 curel. I'm sure you'll be pleased with the results, no more itching dry flakes!!!!
Reply:Honey, I have the same problem and what I use is Mary Kay Time Wise Age-Fighting Moisturizer. It is for combination to oily skin, and suitable for sensitive skin. and it is oil and fragrance free. Wonderful product and leaves my skin SOFT! I can even give you an e-mail to order the product! If you are interested. If not, don't worry. But it does make you feel beautiful! Oh, and it is not just for aging skin. It helps with it, but is not just for it. lol
Reply:Try to use honey as the facial mask(spay a thin film of honey on your face after cleaning) every night before going to bed.
Reply:I use Ponds Moisturizing Cream at night. It's a thick cream but not very heavy. This helps my face and actually smooth me out quite a bit. If you use this at night and then your oif free lotion in the morning/day this should help.
Reply:Drink lots of water and the night before you sleep apply some coconut oil...it works.....
Reply:Time wise by Mary Kay
Reply:yes i amhaning that same problem. to help the lotion absorb onto my face better i exfoliate by gently scrubbing face with towl and st.ives invigorating scrub. i like to use olay.
Reply:Im the same way, my room mates joke that when i come out of the shower if i don't lotion up fast enough i may peel like a snake. I use Suave Aloe Vera lotion, its cheap, it comes in a huge bottle, and it works. I put it on after my shower, and before bed at night, it is ok to use on your face, because its not at all oily, I love the stuff, and like i said its super cheap... also it doesn't smell like anything so it doesn't interact with any perfumes i put on after that....
Reply:ouch sounds like i used to be, try the nourifusion range on the web, its the best stuff there is to keep you moisturized but no oily residue. try myhealthabcmall.com when you order it takes about 4 days to arrive, this stuff is the best. It goes on and you can just feel how good it is straight away, it even clears up any facial blemishes you may have.
Reply:Timewise Age-Fighting Moisturizer by Mary kay. It is the best! In the winter you may want to consider the norm/dry and in the warmer months use the comb/oily. Use with the 3 in 1 cleanser to cleanse exfoliate and tone your skin. They are formulated to work together for a better result. It is not heavy, it takes a pea size amount per application. Will help with the itchy, dry, peeling skin.
Reply:Its by Jergans its called three faces and it in a little tub with three women on it.You need some thing oily for dry skin.Lotion for oily skin helps keep your face from getting oily you need some kind of oil based lotion for this weather.I had the same problem.

Oily skin and large pores?

The skin on my nose has large pores and is really oily. It really bothers me and is gross. Washing my face often (twice a day at least) doesn't get rid of most of the oil. It sorta cakes up in the pore but I don't get zits. The only way for me to get the oil out is to squeeze it out. What are some good products to get rid of the oil, make my pores smaller and keep it that way? I tend to get flaky skin from strong products. Any help on that as well?

Oily skin and large pores?
argh! the nose is one of the worst places. nothing seems to work for me either. but then again, im sure if i went out and bought stuff for my face i'd get better results. of course theres 3 steps to washing your face, and hopefully these will help with the oil! make SURE you get a good face wash first of all, and make sure its for oily skin. wash your face with it (i usually do this in the shower =P), then use a toner (nivia, garnier, any really make sure its for your skin type! alchohol free is best) and lastly use face cream. i used to have kinda oily skin but ever since taking up that regieme ive lost it all together! a good thing for blocked pores liek on ur nose and cheeks and stuff are those biore strips. you dont get results right away, infact you might have to go out and buy more after using it without results but it really does clean your pores out (especially if your skin is warm and open, such as after a bath or warm shower) and of course use a toner after for best results.

im not a skin expert but i hope i helped a little bit! good luck :]
Reply:Salicylic acid works best for big pores and an oily T-zone area. Neutrogena rapid clear gel works well. If this is too strong (it shouldn't be), but if it is, use Paula's Choice 1% Beta Hydroxy Acid. You have to purchase it online from www.cosmeticscop.com.

It takes a few weeks to start working, but once it does, it really helps a lot.
Reply:the opinion of an esthetician...i see this all the time. my first question to you would be what skin care products are you using? are they meant for dry skin? if so, they will be adding more oil to your skin trying to hydrate it. Oil and large pores on the nose are very common. Do you find yourdelf normally oily on your forehead, nose, and chin area? (t-zone) if so, you may have combination skin. if you tend you be oily more all over, you probably have an oily skin type. the reason for the large pores is you are producing more oil in that area and the pore is larger to accomodate the oil. just try your best to keep your face clean and make sure you are using the correct products for your skin type. If i could recommend one thing though it would be to go to your local spa and have a skin analysis done by an esthetician. They could tell you what your skin type is by examining it under magnifying lamps and other tools they use. They'll feel around for where you produce the most oil and recommend products to help you and that are best suited for your skin type. I hope this helps! good luck!
Reply:An oily skin , as the name implies, is one in which the sebaceous or oil-producing glands are over active. As surface grease tends to attract dirt, an oily skin acquires a dirty surface film , that needs to be removed daily. For more details log to http://useinfo-oilyskin.blogspot.com/

Go to Target and get Clearasil Ultra.

Here is some info,

Everysingle picture you see is only edited by people washing there face with Clearasil Ultra. I had lots of acne and asked the same question and then I found Clearasil and my face looks like it has been worked on by artest. I feel like a cleb its so awesome!

Get clearasil Ultra :)
Reply:I have the same problem. Ok, this may sound weird..but if you go to any public bathrooms...and you know those toilet seat things? The little thin papers you put on the toilet seat before you use the restroom? Yeah, if you get that and rub it on your nose, it will absorb the oil and make your nose area less oily.

Good luck~

HELP! Skin care issues.?

Can anyone recommend good skin care products. I've had a mild break out (not tons of zits, but a few on my cheeks) but I also tend to have dry skin that needs moisturizing. If I put on lotion, I break out more, if I don't I get fine lines. I'm looking for a quality product line. Any tips or suggestions?

HELP! Skin care issues.?
you dont need to go and spend $30+ to take care of the problem here's what i would do (you can buy this stuff @ wal-mart). Buy a face wash like neutrogena for acne that has Sacrylic acid in it. also get an Alcohol-free Toner. and buy a moisterizer that has SPF 15 in it that also has either sacrylic acid in it or benozoic acid (not sure thats how u spell) to wear during the day. at night use the face wash and toner again and use a night cream with the sacrylic or benozoic acid in it (this treats acne). do this everyday and use a face Masque that tones and dries out blemishes once a week, your skin will be cleared up in a week 2 @ the most good luck!

Skin Care????

Lately with the crazy weather change here in CA, my skin looks and feels very dry (which is odd b/c i tend to have oily skin). I've never had this problem before...i was thinking of using proactive to help my skin....is that a good idea? Are there any other skin care product that WORK?

Skin Care????
Hey there,

Your skin is dry maybe due to the weather changes or it could be that you have combination skin, which is oily at the T zones and dry at other areas.

Proactive works really well for problems like acne because it helps to dry out the acnes fast. I dont think you should be using Proactive now since your skin feels dry. Try a good moisturizer that will help to replenish your moisture in your skin. I recommend Nivea moisturizer for day time use. It's light and won't feel too greasy, it has a nice refreshing scent and keeps you hydrated for 24 hours.

Alternately, at night, use a good night cream to help moisturize your skin as well as repairing your skin while you sleep. I suggest Nivea's night cream with Q10plus. It helps to regenerate your skin and keep it moisturized and supple.

If your skin is dry, I suggest for you to change your facial cleanser too. Get a gentle cream cleanser for dry skin instead. I suggest Clinique's Comforting Cream Cleanser to remedy your dry skin. Normal cleansers might tend to dry out your skin further. Clinique's is specially formulated for dry skin. For more tips to looking after dry skin, please read further at http://beauty-tyrant.blogspot.com/2007/0...

Also, drink more water. Hydrate yourself with lots of fluids to keep your skin smooth and supple. At least 8-10 glasses of water each day. Drink your water periodically so the water is well absorbed into your body. Avoid drinking coffee and tea. They make your skin more dehydrated.

Get a moisturizing facial mask to replenish lost moisture on your face. Use it about 2 times in a month. I recommend a good facial mask like Nivea's Pampering Honey Mask. Leaves your face fully moisturized after usage.

I hope these beauty tips have helped you. I know by following these tips, you can achieve that beautiful supple skin again. Good luck in caring for your skin. For more beauty secrets, please go to http://beauty-tyrant.blogspot.com/2007/0...

Please let me know how your progress is
Reply:I actually used proactive, an i found it too harsh. it has been over a year now i have been using Nivea face gel. you must use a wash, toner and moisterizer. Since you normally have oilly skin you should stick to face gels and gel creams. i get my cream from Clinique, i am very happy with it.
Reply:Oil of Olay is fantastic, and they have some with SPF for day use too. Use the thicker cream at night it will really soothe.
Reply:proactive is designed to dry your skin if you have acne ...so it will just make it worse, and maybe cause you to over produce oil.

Buy a gentle face wash, toner and moisturizer with SPF....if their is any alcohol in your face products this will make it worse to because alcohol dries the skin...but for some reason they use it most creams....go figure.

Is there a good skin care product that will clear skin while improving the health of your skin?

I've noticed that most skin care products are used to treat only acne, or only aging/wrinkles. Are there any products that combine both? I tend to have greasy skin, but it dries out VERY easily with certain products. It's very dry during winter months, but greasier during summer. I also have VERY large pores.

I was looking at "Natural Advantage" skin care line, but don't know if it'll be an effective acne treatment? I want HEALTHY, YOUNG looking skin as well as CLEAR skin. Any suggestions?

Is there a good skin care product that will clear skin while improving the health of your skin?
Yep!!! ABSOLUTELY!!!! It's called Therametics, developed by a world renown dermatologist, Dr. Brian Fuller, here in OKC, OK. I have Lupus and Scleroderma, and I cannot tell you what a difference this has made in my life!!! I am 47 yrs. old, and get ID'd when ordering or buying a bottle of wine!!! This is a brand new product, available only for about 4 months, now. It's active ingredient is called Therasol (TM) It is THE ONLY PRODUCT to ACTUALLY PENETRATE the dermal barrier and to go internal!! ALL other products simply FLOAT on top if your skin, and make it feel softer for a little while. THIS DOES NOT!!! IT GOES DEEEEP w/in the skin"s -multi-layers and ACTUALLY CORRECTS THE SKIN'S TEXTURE AND EVENS OUT SKIN TONE!!! I CANNOT say ENOUGH!!! If you'd like more info. on what this product line has to offer, or to order, (best of all, it is INEXPENSIVE!!!) go to www.therametics.com, and my name is Rebecca Bayless - I am a certified sales rep. for this line - something I said that I'd NEVER do!!! BUT - I have SEEN the difference, after all of the multiple hundreds to thousands of dollars that I have spent!!! I BELIEVE!!! PS. I smoke, like an idiot, and it has ERASED the fine lines around my mouth!!!! PLEASE DO THIS FOR YOU!!! CHECK IT OUT!! :) Becky

Reply:Hello

The mistake most people make is using acne products and not moisturizing. They end up with red irritated and broken out skin. It is essential that you use a good cleanser and if you don't want to spend a lot of money use Cetaphil or another cleanser with salicylic acid in it. Also a lot of the anti aging products do tend to irritate skin and clog pores. Find one that is non-irritating and look at the ingredients closely. In my skin care line I use only hypoallergenic non pore clogging ingredients and it works well on all skin types.

I hv psoriasis and i feel very bad for the way scaling/spots on my skin deteriorates my show up.?

I want to improve my self esteem %26amp; my confidence level, especially with regards to my looks. I hate it when people make me feel conscious of my health issues. I am down on self esteem and its impacting my relationship with my boy friend. I feel very insecure in this relationship due to my skin condition. Even though my boy friend may accept me the way I am (with this skin issue), I tend to doubt that he looks at other girls too. This gets us fighting too often. I love him and want to improve my self esteem so that my thoughts are healthier.

I hv psoriasis and i feel very bad for the way scaling/spots on my skin deteriorates my show up.?
Hi there,

Firstly, I hope you are trying some treatment for this.

Secondly, you need to realize that your looks do not define who you are. So maybe what you need to do identify the things that you are good in. Try this exercise: Write down a list of things that you are good at. For example, "I am good listener", "I care for other people" etc. List something good about your looks also. "Such as I have beautiful eyes", "My hair is very shiny". Make as long a list about yourself as you wish or as you can. If you find it difficult take somebody's help such as a close friend, a close family member.

When you feel you have enough, try and rememeber them. At night before going to bed, repeat them and go to sleep. When you wake up in the morning do this again. After repeating them a both the times, thank God for blessing you with all the these good qualities. Do this for at least 21 days.

Also whenever you think how ugly you look or whatever your negative thoughts are, tell yourself "I am doing the best I can to get rid of this. I have a lot of good qualities in me. I will spend my time in enhancing these good qualities." or something similar to this.

Keep yourself busy with acitivities that interest you. Anything like painting, writing etc.

Exercise regularly. It will not only help improve your immunity and help you get rid of psoriasis but it will also make you feel good. Do some breathing exercises.

Maybe you can have a heart-to-heart talk with you boyfriend also. Discuss with him how this is effecting you and maybe he can also be helpful to you and this will also improve your relationship with him.

I hope this helps.
Reply:My Husband has it as well. I don't even pay attention to it. I love him for who he is and what we share together.

Skin whitening products?

Hello.

I'm half Italian and half Spanish (Spain). I have the usual olive skin Mediterraneans have. I don't have red skin like Nordics do.

Essentially, what I want to do is lighten the skin to pale level. It's not a racist thing (I'm obviously white), it's the fact that many people confuse me for a puerto rican, as puerto ricans tend to have olive skin as well.

Can anyone please recommend a good skin whitening creme that will make my skin pale??

My budget is $20-30, preferable at a local store.

Skin whitening products?
you'll need a good quality and safe skin lightening soap for a start... you can buy this at $9 each online.. don't mind the mj comments.. skin lightening is more criticized here in the us because of cultural preferences, which is the only difference between skin tanning and skin lightening, without realizing that BOTH have the same objectives - better self esteem, correcting uneven skin tone, or aesthetic preference...
Reply:i'm not to sure

Whats the best moisturize/face cream and acne cream for sensitive skin?

i have very sensitive skin so i tend to scar easy on my face. i need as much help as possible!!

Whats the best moisturize/face cream and acne cream for sensitive skin?
First, of course, you should see an actual dermatologist. They're expensive, but it'll be worth it if you can get useful information.

In the meantime, I've had a lot of luck with the Aveeno products. They are very gentle and don't cause my Rosecea to react. Also, some people have a really tough time with bar soaps, so you could switch to a liquid cleanser. I've never had a problem with Cetephyl. Look for labels that say Dermatologist Tested, and Non-commenogenic (won't clog pours). Avoid astringents, they contain alcohol, try a toner instead. Burt's Bees has several that are extremely gentle, and they smell nice, too!

Acne is often a hormonal reaction, which is another reason seeing a Dermatologist is a good idea. S/He can perscribe something orally that can help, as well as something topical. Retin-A is really tough on the skin, and I wouldn't recommend buying anything with that in it unless under a dr.s supervision.

Tea tree oil is really gentle and is an ingredient in a lot of products labeled sensitive skin. Oatmeal masks are easy to make in your own kitchen and have a nice dual effect of soothing and clearing pores. I use chamomile water to make the oatmeal with. I gently wash my face, then just smear the oatmeal on my face and leave it there until it dries. Stay away from your eyes. Rinse. I follow with a light moisturizer.

Good luck. I hope you find a combo that works.
Reply:I use Olay foaming face wash, it is soap and oil free and it's a wash not a scrub. Very gentle yet effective.
Reply:cetaphil works great!
Reply:If you are ok with natural products this is the best.

Do you perceive your own ethnicity's skin color to be less color-ey than that of other ethnicities?

Motivation: I am interested in testing whether people tend to perceive their own skin color (or that with which they are most familiar) as fairly uncolor-ey (e.g., "white" people might describe their skin color as "peachey" if forced to give an answer, but generally find it hard to describe, and they would reject that it is in the least white), whereas people tend to perceive other skin tones as fairly color-ey (e.g., "white" people do tend to perceive the skin tones of other ethnicities as red, brown, blue or black, i.e., as color-ey). For example, I suspect that when dark-skinned people first encountered white people, they perceived their own skin as fairly uncolorey and found it hard to put a good color-name to, but they saw those light-skinned caucasions as very color-ey, namely white. Perhaps this may be why many languages use color words to refer to other ethnicities, but often not in describing their own.

Do you perceive your own ethnicity's skin color to be less color-ey than that of other ethnicities?
I think I would tend to agree with you. It is the same thing as an accent. I don't have an accent, everybody else does.
Reply:I, for one, an tired of checking the "White" box. If you are Hispanic you have a plethora of choices. I have encountered forms that give 4 options for Hispanic and 4 for Asian/pacific islanders, and nothing-nothing for the speckled.

I want my own box... I want a box (and all the minority perks that seemly come with it) for....Speckled!

That's right I said it....SPECKLED.

Covergirl Smoothers Tinted Moisturizer or Neutrogena Healthy Skin Enhancer Tinted Moisturizer?

WHICH ONE IS BETTER? I am completely and utterly confused. I don't want to go out and buy one of them and it will suck...

I have oily skin, and I tend to get a few pimples. Which one's best?

Covergirl Smoothers Tinted Moisturizer or Neutrogena Healthy Skin Enhancer Tinted Moisturizer?
okay well since u have oily skin and pimples i would go with a moisturizer that does not clog pores...And also u dont really need a heavy moisturizer since ur face is already oily...I wouldnt wear base if i were u i would go with bare minerals its a loose powder and it is awesome...u should wash ur face at night put some pimple medicine and a toner on them u should wash ur face in the morning...
Reply:I use Neutrogena for my oily skin, it works wonders. I use to have pimples all over my face, I can honestly say that Neutorgena has worked. I have done everything for my face such as Proactiv, It didn't work. For my oily skin I also recommend those oil sheets from clean and clear. I don't know about this particular product your talking about but Neutorgena is a good skin care product.
Reply:I think you should get a good facial cleanser that is gentle on pimples and stuff, if you have a gentle soap like Olay. Use citrus based astringent as toner, and lemon juice is fine. Squirt it on a tissue since it absorbs less toner and you actually use more on your face. A light non-pore clogging moisturizer is wonderful to seal the deal. A great way to use cleanser is to wet your face with warm water first and then lather up cleanser. Then shut those clean pores with cold water. A great way to take away those pimples is to use a clay mask or deep scrub. Using the warm/cold rinses work wonders!

Fruit acids like carrot and papaya should be a great home made rescue. After a few weeks of doing that in the mornings and at night, you should not have to use makeup!

Cover up your pimples for now with some whisper thin loose powder instead of a tinted moisturizer. Make sure you apply it with a soft big fluffy face brush. This works wonders and if you apply it with light hand it perfectly adds a soft glow. I tried this with the cheapest drugstore stuff I could muster and it covers everything!
Reply:covergirl is the bomb girl!! I dont care which is more expensive, Cover girl works!!

Do you think this is a good Skin care Regimen?..?

A.M ...Clinique

2.Toner(contains Salysilic acid)

3.Oil free moisturizer.

4.Neutrogena Oil free Makeup up ( contains salysilic acid)

P.M AcneFree

1.Cleanser

2.Toner.

3.clinique moisturizer/ Acnefree Lotion.

Well i've always used Clinique, because its realy good on my skin, but i tend to breakout on that time of the month,so i wanted to use a acne treatment at night only.Good Regimen?.Or should i just stick with one regimen. As my a.m regimen has a little bit of Salysilc acid, and MY p.m has Benzoyle Peroxide.what do you guys think

Do you think this is a good Skin care Regimen?..?
That sounds like a good skin care regimen, but you may be drying out your skin a bit too much. You do want a *little* oil in your routine. Why? because your skin steps up oil production if it feels it's getting too dry. Oil doesn't cause breakouts by itself... it's oil + dirt that clogs pores. Cleaning your skin well morning and night should take care of that. Also, consider using SPF. If you like Clinique, try their Superdefense lotion (normal to oily formula). It's wonderful.

A lot of women break out at that time of the month. I find that a little bit of Oxy10 (or any other acne medication) takes care of any minor breakouts.

You may also want to work an exfoliant into your routine about 2-3 times a week.
Reply:Yes it lookes like ur wife knows what she is doing. It Sounds like a good regimen to me.Just make sure you keep up the Moisture since acne treatments can be a littel drying. If they are working for you then Keep it up.I use Clinique to,and Love it.i use it 2x's a day though.
Reply:Sounds good to me! The only thing I would suggest is that you could use Benefit's Boo Boo Zap spot acne treatment on trouble spots- I use it and it works really well, better than anything else I have ever tried.
Reply:No, this regimen will make your skin sensitive as you should not use both different drying agent like salicylic acid and benzoyl peroxide. It will make your skin dry and lead to more breakouts instead, you should just stick to either salicylic acid or benzoyl peroxide. You also should not switch your skin care products between a.m and p.m as this will lead to sensitive skin as well.
Reply:Whatever your skin responds best to is what you should use.
Reply:Oh my! Not good at all. You're going to destroy your skin. You should use Celladerm Acne Solution.

What can I do to make my skin less oily?

I have very oily skin, and I tend to break out alot. What can I do so my face won't be oily and breaking out?

What can I do to make my skin less oily?
1. Do not wash your face too many times a day-this can cause your face to dry and trigger your skin to produce more oil.

2. Use a good facial cleanser for oil prone skin-nothing too harsh!

3. Follow up with a good oil free facial moisturizer-remember the key is to not dry out your skin.

4. Increase your daily water intake.

5. A good dermatologist never hurts ; )

Whats the best cream to lighten skin safetly?

Especially if i have indian skin...sometimes we tend to go darker e\when exposed to the sun.

Whats the best cream to lighten skin safetly?
Alpha Hydrox Fade Cream. But be careful, and you have to use sunscreen every day so you don't undo your 'work.' I lightened some spots I use, but my skin got too irritated. The creams that work are also strong.
Reply:the best skin lightening product should NOT contain hydroquinone, mercury or steroids.. but success in skin lightening is also dependent on the proper use of the product, type of sunscreen, moisturizers and/or supplements taken with the regimen.. sunscreen should be of high spf (45 or better) for your type of skin to prevent further darkening or sun damage..

What is the best face lotion for Semi-Oily skin that tends to break out?

Artistry's balancing moisturiser. They actually have a whole balancing system for oily skin that works great, but you can get just the moisturiser if you want. It's actually guarenteed to work or they'll refund all of your money. I can give you the direct link so you can check it out and even buy it if you want

The lotion will last for a very long time too because it's very concentrated and you only use a little bit for your whole face. It won't clog pores or make you break out either.

What is the best face lotion for Semi-Oily skin that tends to break out?
aveeno brand products
Reply:You know what? This may seem totally off the wall, but try this -- washing your face with plain water! When you use cleansers to wash your face, you strip your face of essential oils which you are going to replenish with...lotions?! I splash my face with plain water, blot it dry, and then apply a light coat of Cetaphil. But try the plain water regimen first. Good luck!

What is a good brand of astringent for oily skin that tends to break out?

Neutrogena has a good one for oily skin. If you're willing to spend $11.00, the best I've found is Mary Kay's Blemish control toner. Since I've started using it I haven't had a problem with break outs, and I used to get them all the time. I've tried everything from Clinique to Lancome to Estee Lauder, and this is the best out there. Good luck.

What is a good brand of astringent for oily skin that tends to break out?
distilled witch hazel in chemists and shops for like £2
Reply:Biore

Triple Astringen it is perfect for my oliy skin!
Reply:Kiehls makes some great astringents for a variety of skin types, and clinique makes a really good astringent/toner. Ofcourse, witch hazel is always the cheapest way to go.
Reply:I have tried many and here is a good one for combination/ sensitive/ break-out prone skin wich is what i have. I currently use Alba Organics hibiscus facial toner. You can find it pretty easily in in health food or organic type stores. It comes in a hawaiian looking plastic bottle and it only runs you around $12.00 dollars or so for a 8.5 oz bottle.
Reply:intaglio--its a professional brand;i get mine through a wholesale shop and its about 20 bucks a bottle. a little expensive but its worth it
Reply:I love Biore and Clinique brand astringents. If you don't already have a skincare regimen, maybe you could start one. The skin on your face doesn't take change very well, so find the cleansers, astringents, moisturizers that work best for you and stick to them. Also, make sure you drink plenty of water, never wear makeup to bed and change your pillowcases frequently.
Reply:i have oily skin that breaks out all the time and after using astringents for the longest time, i realized what harm it did to my skin.

astringent strips off the oil off ur face so it gets rid of ur NATURAL oil as well.

at first, ur skin will feel tight and kinda dry and flaky but after a while ur skin will produce MORE AND MORE oil and pretty soon u'll get oil-overload.

so its best to stick with something gentler and not so harsh. i recently switched to a gentle toner (not astringent) with witch hazel (proactive revitilizing toner) and it worked a lot better. but after i ran out of that, i bought the cooling daily pore toner from clean and clear and that works REALLY well too. it doesn't dry out my skin (even though it contains some alcohol and salicycal acid like most astringents do).

so i advise u to switch to a gentle toner. and try it out for a while. :]

clean and clear cooling daily pore toner!!
Reply:Clean %26amp; Clear makes a good one for oily/sensitive skin. It's blue. You can find it at most drug stores.

Suitable nail varnish colour for dark skin?

I've got dark skin and I tend to grow my nails from time to time. I usually wear clear nail varnish, but I'm thinking of wearing a bit of colour. Can anyone suggest colours that suit my skin tone and perhaps suit my personality (I'm a quiet person so I don't want a provocative and 'really out there' colour, just something subtle and nice looking!). Thanks in advance. xx

Suitable nail varnish colour for dark skin?
French manicure in ivory.
Reply:i think pink looks nice - or a dark red if you're going out on the raz
Reply:Dark red looks classy on dark skin I think.Go to a nail salon and experiment and ask their advice.
Reply:I think with your skin any nail varnish would look lovely. When I'm tanned I wear loads of bright colours on my feet, like hot pink etc I think hot pink would look good on you or a paler shade if you are not brave enough, or any pastel colour will look really pretty with your skin. I try to team my nail varnish with my outfits. A french manicure with with white tips on your nails looks good on any skin colour.
Reply:I just wear which ever colour matches my outfit or a pale pink colour if I want it to go with everything. Also gold if you wear gold jewellery and silver if you wear silver is a good rule. French manicures are subtle, but can have connotations.
Reply:How about a nice plummy or mulberry colour? I think copper and bronzy gold would look lovely too. :)
Reply:I'd go for a bold colour, ie. red or bright pink. Pale colours won't look any good against your skin tone.
Reply:most colours would look good, but gold or red, especially

Good luck, Hope you like it

Reply:I think theres so many colours that look gorgeous against brown, I think you should go for a lighter colour maybe a sugar/baby pink or even better a pale blue or lilac I think any of these would look very pretty and not too overpowering xx

any of these would look fantastic on you i always think people with dark skin look great with really bright colours.
Reply:French manicures look hot, or a dark brown shade could be cool without drawing to much attention to the hands.
Reply:I have dark skin as well and I usually choose med-dark shades of pink or burgundy colors.
Reply:silver its all the rage

Does anybody have skin like mine and have you used proactive?

This question only applys to people with oily skin who only tend to get a few breakouts now again.. have you ever used proactive? did it work? xxxxxxxxxx

Does anybody have skin like mine and have you used proactive?
Proactiv is not for people who get 2 pimples here and there. It's for people who have real problems with their acne. You should use a face cleanser instead if you only have mild acne. Because proactiv won't work for you because it's only mild acne. Proactiv is strong, and meant for people who hav a lot of acne, so try clean%26amp;clear instead.

How do I repair damaged skin from overplucking my eyebrows?

So I've been plucking my eyebrows for like 10 years probably, since I was a teen. My eyebrows are thin, overplucked. Obviously I just need to let them grow back. The problem is the eyebrow skin itself. It's very damaged, red, dry, almost scabby. The eyebrows don't grow well in this skin, the hairs tend to get ingrown and not grow out because of the dryness. I have tried all sorts of moisturisers, auzeline oil, hydrocortizone cream, aloe vera, vitamine E, nothing seems to work really well. Even when I do moisurise, the redness is still there. It's really hard to cover up the redness and dryness with make-up. I have had so many people make comments on my brows. I just want them to heal up so that the hair can regrow. Any suggestions?

How do I repair damaged skin from overplucking my eyebrows?
i had the same problem , and what i did was bought a deep moisterizer [ really really deep] , and some vitamin E oil and put moisterizer on at night and in the morning the vitamin E. this works really well. also , if you wash your face at night or in the morning , stop. or at least around your eyebrow area . over washing seems to make it even more dry. another thing is that when you sleep , dampen a washcloth , rub some vitamin E and moisterizer on it , and put it on your brows. another thing is dont put make up on it. it will agitate the skin and make it a worse condition.

i hope i helped =]
Reply:try elizabeth arden 8 hour cream or polysporin. be consistent in applying it - i.e. everyday twice a day. try it out for a month and see if you notice anything. if there's still no change, go see a dermatologist.

as for the redness, try applying visine to clean dry skin. it helps remove redness from zits, so it might work on your brow area.
Reply:After washing your face each night before going to bed, rub a LITTLE bit of neosporin into each brow area nightly.

This helps with the dryness (mineral oil), redness (dryness/infected follicles), and ingrown hairs(antibiotic).

Let me know if it DOESN'T work. That's how confident I am. I have the same problem.

Should be better in 1 week.

An dark skin Afican american women and i have dark spot on my legs , how do i remove them?

See i have very dry skin and i tend to scratch and over the years my legs have become extremly discolored and have dark spots on them and i want to set them back straight HELP SUMMERS COMMING............

An dark skin Afican american women and i have dark spot on my legs , how do i remove them?
I am sorry you have this problem but it is important that you understand that it is very common. Unfortunately, the other thing that is common is for African-American women to get hyperpigmentation as a response to stress. The scratching is stressed your skin, and a burn or acne would probably have similar results. In the areas of the dark spots, your skin has now more melanocytes and/or your melanocytes are making more melanin.

What can you do? First of all, you can avoid getting more of these dark spots by not scratching. If you scratch at night, take an over-the-counter antihistamine before you go to bed, that will help. If you do this during the day, try to keep your skin well hydrated so it will not itch, maybe using sea kelp bioferment or something similar. If you still do scratch when your skin is not itchy, you may need some help from a therapist who could help you by teaching you some useful techniques.

What about the spots you already have? Avoid the sun and use some skin lightening actives like those I use in our skin brightening cream, for example, white liquorice, glutathione, tetrahydrocurcuminoids, arbutin, melatonin, magnesium ascorbyl phosphate, kojic acid dipalmitate, and superoxide dismutase.

Please remember that when you are wearing a brilliant smile, nobody notices the minute defects that our skin acquires as we live our life. A smile and kindness will beat any dark spots in your legs!

Good luck and best wishes

How do I care for my skin?

I have oily skin, and I tend to breakout very, very often. I also have a lot of blackheads on my nose and forehead. What are inexpensive products to take care of my skin to avoid breakouts and blackheads? And how, exactly, do I take care of my skin?

How do I care for my skin?
Hi, I actually read these really good articles about it, you'll find more useful information there I'm sure:

http://www.carefair.com/Skincare/Natural...

http://www.carefair.com/Skincare/Acne/Wa...

http://www.carefair.com/Skincare/Acne/Ac...
Reply:the key is to take just enough moisture anyway not too much so do this daily use clean %26amp; clear blackhead facial scrub, then a toner, now pure cocoa butter that is not heavy but natural, after awhile you well see no blackheads so use blackhead scrub as needed. other than that use a mild facial scrub and cocoa butter.
Reply:i use proactiv. it is kind of pricey but i love it. it is a 3 step process first cleanse second is toner this helps take off any excess oil and grime and last moisturize. i know you said you have oily skin but you should still moisturize you skin. your skin should adjust shortly after you start you new regimen.
Reply:Seriously, try the Joesoef Skin Care anti-acne treatment kit. It has cleared my skin. I have sensitive skin with terrible acne - well, I HAD acne, and now my skin is healthy! I can even go around without makeup. If you have breakouts, you should also use a good spf 30 or more to avoid scarring. I am in love with this line. It was made by a dermatologist, and I think the quality is really high, and the price is VERY reasonable!!!
Reply:i would say use Cetaphil. you can find it at any drug store, however the 16oz bottle will run you about 15 dollars, unless you go to target or walmart for about 10 dollars. anyways. the trick to oily skin is not to overwash it. overwashing only stimulates your oil glands to produce even more oil. so only wash your face at night and in the morning. an no matter what people say, pimples happen. there is no total way to avoid them, just to not make them look and last longer than they should. you should also try an exfoliator once a week only. you could pick up one by Aveeno. good luck.
Reply:St. Ives is a non-expensive brand name that is sold practically everywhere. (Walgreens, CVS...) When you wake up in the morning use a CLEANSER. After the cleanser, apply TONER to the face with a cotton ball. After, cleansing and toning, apply a MOISTURIZER on the whole face and neck and you are ready for the day! If you wear make up u can apply the make up after when the moisturizer dries.
Reply:Well firstly, are you eating healthy? i tend to notice that when i eat lots of sweats and chocolate..etc, i tend to breakout. trust me, if you drink water and stop eating those sugary foods (if you do) then it will reduce them. Just keep remembering to wash your face everyday........ even if you get some creams or products, still try those points which ive just mentioned!- they are free!! :)
Reply:Neutrogena Pore Refining Cleanser.

There is a generic version of this which is much

-i bought items from that company

they work really well

i used to have breakouts everywhere on my face. but after i used their products, my breakouts never did occur again nor are the scars of my breakouts showing
Reply:I have skin exactly like that and what I do is:

- Exfoliate once a week using a brown sugar scrub.

1/4 C. Brown Sugar

3 tsp. Milk

Mix together until it becomes a paste.

- I also wash my face at least 2 times a day with Neutragena Rapid Clear face wash. I have used it for the past three years and I absolutely love it. It gets rid of the oil on my face for about all day.

Of course I do use a moisturizer even though my skin tends to be kind of oily but I use Purpose moisturizer with a redness reducer and I just use it once a day before I put on my make-up. I put it on and then wait about ten minutes before applying my make-up so my face wont be oily looking all day.

I hope this helps you out!

What foundation to use for dry skin?

Whenever I wear liquid foundation, it makes it too obvious that I'm wearing foundation. If I wear cream-to-powder foundation, it makes the dry skin show up on my face. I wear Ponds moisturizing cream before wearing foundation, but the dry skin flakes still tend to show up. What foundation should I use if I have dry skin?

What foundation to use for dry skin?
Have you tried L'Oreal True Match? It's a liquid, but it gives nice sheer coverage that blends in with your natural skin tones really nicely.
Reply:i suggest pure makeup liquid foundation by maybelline and then follow it up with some bare minerals powder or even some cover girl compact thing
Reply:I use Bare Minerals, and it does make small flakes show up when my skin is dry. I usually put on some moisturizer by Bliss, and that works really well and instantly. It also smells lovely.

Good luck!
Reply:I have the same problem along w/ a very difficult skin tone to match. I recently bought the new Maybelline mineral powder foundation it's a liquid and it's a very tiny bottle, but all it takes is a few drops and you'll see spectacular coverage and it's not harsh on your skin. So, you'll notice and improvement after you start using it. Hope this works for you! It did for me!
Reply:Use a moisturizer always. I haven't tried palms, but I'm sure its fine. Try Almay dry skin foundation and powder line! It's really nice (instead of using the pressed powder over the foundation, use the powder makeup over the foundation. It gives a little more coverage and is smoother than the pressed powder)
Reply:bare minerals
Reply:After your moisturizer are you putting on a primer before foundation? A makeup primer will help alot with locking in your moisturizer and it will make your makeup look better and last longer. Bare Esentuals has a great primer called PrimeTime.
Reply:Namyang Aloe(nyaloe.com) Perpect poundation!!!

How do fix my horrible skin? (Pores, Blackheads etc)?

Well I have huge pores, they are so large that it looks like a whole bunch of black dots on my face (could be mistaken for blackheads but when I checked, it was really the giant pores), I also have very oily skin, and I tend to get a lot of blackheads. The worst area for me is my nose, I have the most pores and I get the most blackheads. I used the Biore' blackhead strips and they worked, but not great because since my pores are so huge with the oily skin, it kind of defeats the purpose. Any ideas on how to get rid of how much oil I have, blackheads and pores? (for example on the oils in my skin, when I go to pop a black head, you see the oil being pushed up.. it's gross)

How do fix my horrible skin? (Pores, Blackheads etc)?

Let me tell you something not many people know,

When you try to wash the oil off your wash using soap or

any store brought product what happends is it sucks up alot of the natural oils

out of your skin, and what happends when that occurs? your

skin goes into over time trying to reblimish the lost oil

and doubles the amount, your pores open up more to get more of the oil out and air in so let me help you

Ah ok well my mother had the same problem as you,

and let me tell you what she did to make it stop,

this is a home treatment of course, the only thing

you may need to buy is a lemon if you dont already have some in the fridge,

what you want to do is get some lemon and squeez that

sucker into a tiny bit of honey, and mix that all together, put that

into the area where you want treated and wait 5-10 mins and than wash off,

the lemon works great as a toner and as we all know toners are

great for tighthing the skin and even better for your pores to look

smaller, the honey helps as an evener, it will even out the uneven

skin tone and also sooths the skin,This teachique not only destorys the pimples you already

have but it also helps prevent them from coming up again,Drinking alot of water

every day also helps alot :) Well I hope this helps %26lt;3 good luck

-- Love Vanessa
Reply:for the pores, you could use L'Oreal pore refiner products. it works well.. for the blackheads, you could use a nose strip. you can get it at any drug store. or you could steam your face using a very hot water. use the steam only..! and when you feel that your face is being soft, use this ornament with two holes at each end and take off your blackheads. then wash your face. as for the oily skin, you could wash your face with a facial wash that has a label "for oily skin". wash it often. although not so often that your face will dry up.!
Reply:I just replied to another question about this regimen.

www.acne.org and look for Dr. Kernes regimen.

Watch the videos and use the recommended products that you can find in most pharmacies.

It is a must that you watch the videos to make sure you are cleaning and applying product properly. I made the mistake of just following the directions and was making my face worse.

Part of this regimen is moisturizing your face which should help with the excess oil your face is producing.

I prefer the Cetaphil soaps (bar or liquid) and moisturizer. Check the site out, there is also a forum there for you to get specific answers to your certain questions.
Reply:Just the way I did it in my day, good old soap and water on the pores.

What is the best skin cleanser?

I have kind of dry skin, but i tend to sometimes get small acne breakouts also. What is a good skin cleanser for acne that doesn't dry out your skin too much? I use cetaphil and it doesn't work very well. Ive never tried clean and clear, does it work? Also what do you recommend?

What is the best skin cleanser?
Don't think so.

Try only natural stuff.

Reply:There are no best skin cleanser because it will just make your face become worst.
Reply:I know it sounds very cliche, but Proactiv Solution works like magic. (:

The three steps included are 1 - a Daily Clenser (I use this when I take a shower because your face needs to be wet for the clenser. It's just easier to clean my face if it's already wet.)

2 - A Toner

3 - A Repairing Lotion to apply on affected areas (acne)

Remember to drink lots of water, it helps keep the face clear!
Reply:I use spectro gel in the morning and before i go to bed. The spectro gel is good to clean ur face of bacterias. I alawys apply cream after washing my face with cleanser. then I put on clean and clear on my pimples. It drys out the pimples not ur whole face.
Reply:First off proactive does not work... dont waste your money. Saint Ives apricot scrub works really well. It exfoliates getting rid of dead skin
Reply:i used to have the same problem. Than i fixed it by using yes to carrots facial mud peeling cleanser. Works great for dry skin cause it contains carrots. Which carrots have an oil in it that's good for dry skin. You can only by it at walgreens though. i think it was 9.99

and it's obviouse that u have to cleanse ur face when its wet.

Why do redheads tend to freckle more than blondes?

I'm always fighting my freckles with chemical peels and I stay out of the sun like it's the plague. Why do blondes (or even brunettes) who are as light skinned as me tend to have one-toned skin while I get spots %26amp; blotches of freckles?

Why do redheads tend to freckle more than blondes?
My cosmetic sugeon's office told me that freckles are a sign of sun damage. I've never understood this since I had freckles as a kid but they faded as I got older. Redheads freckle because their skin is usually fair and more sensitive to sunlight. I also get spots and splotches and it bothers me sometimes. But I love being a redhead. I feel really special and different and have received comments on my hair since the minute I was born. We do have to be more cautious in the sun, but it is worth it.
Reply:Being a natural redhead myself this one is common. It's the pigment in your skin. Redheads tend to be fair skinned so it varies from woman to woman. I can tan and most redheads can't. As far as the freckles, I love them so enjoy what God gave you!
Reply:It has to do with the composition of your skin. You will NEVER tan so quit trying. I tried for years to tell my red-headed daughter this and she wouldn't listen. Today she has had to have a basal cell carcinoma removed from her nose and has other "spots" that she is having to watch. Please listen to me--I am a red-head too and I know what I'm talking about. I once had a friend who died three weeks after having been sunburned and had a spot go cancerous on her. Trying to tan isn't worth your life.
Reply:We are just lucky that way Honey!!! Please understand that as you age your skin will become less freckled. Or maybe it is that all my freckles have joined and there is no more cream spaces??

Anyway!! You should glory in the red hair!! Not fret about the freckles!!

Remember that we, Redheads, are more beautiful than any blonde or brunette ever thought of being!!
