What to do about dry skin?

i get REALLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLY dry skin in the winter. and on top of that im using pro activ...which tends to dry out my skin even more. what can i do to stop all the dry flakyness? i exfoliate and moisturize SOOO much yet it seems to do nothing.. help!

What to do about dry skin?
Drink LOTS of water. Avoid dry heat like electric heaters, car heaters, blow dryers, etc. Consider running a humidifier.

Moisturize, moisturize, moisturize!

Wear a heavy night cream before bed.

Use products according to your skin type. If you have dry skin, use products for dry skin! If acne is not a problem, don't use Proactiv.
Reply:Proactiv is pretty drying, so there may not be much more you can do.

Try using it only at night, then in the morning use a substantial oil free moisturizer. Avoid anything with mineral oil or petroleum.

It is important to use the moisturizer on damp skin to seal in the moisture. Apply 2 coats and apply no later than 20 minutes after washing.
Reply:its winter time use some lotion girl!!! sshea butter , coca butter ,aloe vera, all good
Reply:DRINK PLENTY OF WATER. I have the dry skin syndrome as well. The meds I take affect it too. Now remember to moisturize everyday. I moisturized several times a day. The heaters in your home will dry you out as well. Make sure you apply plenty of moisturizer before be.

I use an all natural recipe for a mask that I use too. It is pretty gross, but it leaves your skin feeling as soft as a baby's bottom.
