How come lighter skinned african americans tend to be more successful then darker skinned ones?

What? Are you living in reality or your own little alternate universe, because I see a variety of colors making money these days. If you mean in terms of celebrities, that may be a result of irrational prejudice, but many celebrities are that sort of medium brown tone and not technically light, so I still don't see where you're coming from.

How come lighter skinned african americans tend to be more successful then darker skinned ones?
They don't.
Reply:That is really silly.
Reply:All the black billionaires are dark skinned.
Reply:My god, what crackpipe have you been smoking? Thats like the dumbest question i've heard by far.

How come lighter skinned white people tend to be more successful than white people with tans? See how dum that sounded... think about it.

Get a life.
Reply:Haven't noticed. You must be lying. Go to bed troll.
Reply:I am African American. I only like to speak from factual information. So,I do not know if light skinned African Americans are more successful or not. What I do know, and what has always been historically true, that light skin,or more white looking African Americans have always been, and still are more accepted by the predominate white culture. Thus light skin blacks were always treated better,by blacks. During slavery the light skin blacks got to live and work in the "big house," while the darker slaves worked the fields. In more recent times, light skin blacks got the breaks before dark skin blacks. It is no accident for those of you who know her, that Lena Horne was the first black to be cast in Hollywood. No discredit,to the talented and great Ms. Horne, but I do believe if she was a darker hue,Hollywood would not have had anything to do with her.
