You hear Black people sometimes talk about light vs. dark skin. Hispanics do it too. In India the "untouchables" tend to have the darkest skin. I have heard of Asians comparing skin tone too.
Is there a culture in which the people in general don't judge others based on skin color?
Are ALL cultures obsessed with skin color?
I think so, I think their cultures don't have their dirty laundry aired in the streets as much as ours is.

The skin inside of my mouth peels off. What's wrong?
Whenever i wake up in the morning there are layers of soft skin in my mouth that are loose.
My hygiene is good, i take Taekwondo, i'm 16 years old.
I drink a tall glass of milk every night and I brush and floss 2 times daily.
I also believe that it is the toothpaste i use: CREST with scope mint.
I just really want to diagnose this; i have no problem with it but i was wondering if this is normal.
Oh, and i also tend to bite the inner skin also but that's another story....
The skin inside of my mouth peels off. What's wrong?
i suggest you to see your dentist now.. ASAP
Reply:I think you need to go to the doctor...
Reply:I think you should change your toothpaste. My friend had the exact same problem, but now she uses this herbal toothpaste, and it's much better :]
good luck
Reply:mine mouth does it too
Reply:maybe it's the weather... i had the same problem not so long ago... is it like chapped lips?... maybe you should try applying petroleum jelly or a lip balm... i think that would do it
Reply:Yes, I know about this contition and I can saftely tell you that it is nothing to worry about. i guess it is a way the mouth cleans itself and gets rid of all the bad stuff. And many people get it during puberty so it may or may not pass.

What is a good face-care regimen for people with oily skin?
I have oily skin but it does tend to get a bit dry in the winter. Should I be using moisturizer at all? What is a good regimen to take care of my face in general?
What is a good face-care regimen for people with oily skin?
I have oily skin and I use the Clinique three step care regimen. I also use their Exfoliating scrub once a week.
After I wash my face I use toner, The Clean and Clear one, but Witch Hazel is suffice too
Then I moisturize my face with the Clinique moisturizing gel then apply my make up
When I have the occasional break out, I apply salicylic acid treatment before I moisturize.
Hope this helps!
Reply:Neutragena. Even people with oily skin can use a moisturizer. If you have numerous questions regarding skin care, consult a dermatologist who can best determine what skin care regiment to use
Reply:wash your face every day this will clear and prevent oill from building up then use lotion for pplwith oily skin this wioll keep your skin from getting dry but also prevent oil
Reply:I wash my face daily day and night. I would use exfoliator 3x a week and do a facial mask once a week. Though skin is oily, it does require moisturizer to keep the skin supple. I would recommand a oil-free gel type moisturizer (like Clinique Moisture Surge). Hope this helps!
Reply:You have to be careful with oily skin, because if you overwash your face the oil glands in your skin can get irritated and start producing more oil. Wash your face once a day with a cleanser specially formulated for people with oily skin (I recommend L'oreal Nutri-Pure). Then wash your face for a second time (within 24 hours) using water and witch hazel (an astrigent, comes in a bottle similar to peroxide) Also, try to use makeup that's oil free. Do the same thing in the winter, but try adding a moisturizer to that regimen. Ponds facial cream is the best.
Reply:Yes....
Use oil free moisturizer because you have oily skin and if you get a regular moisture...you will get more oil. So make sure it's oil free and always use moistener because your skin is producing more oil on your face because you don't use moisturizer :D
Reply:dont use moisturiser. use products from body shop.
Reply:The absolute best skin care line for people with oily skin is the Miracle Set for Combination to Oily skin types from Mary Kay. Most people have told you to wash your face, exfoliate and to still use an oil free moisturizer. They are all right. BUT, what they arent telling you is that you CAN NOT mix brands or use random products on your face. Well, I suppose you could, but believe me, youd only be making things worse. All skin care products that deal with cleansing, exfoliation, and moisture are using chemicals the work with your skins natural rehabilitation process. So, if you use one kind of cleanser, another kind of facial mask, and then random moisturizer there is a good chance that you are overdosing your skin on one or all of these chemicals. And that is NEVER good. The skin on your face is very sensitive and easily damages. The reason I recommend the Mary Kay Miracle Set is because it includes a Cleanser that works in 3 different ways. First is cleans and washes away oil, second it uses tiny microbeads to lightly exfoliate, and third contains a toner to freshen and rejuviate skin. The next step is the Day and Night Solutions (2 products). The day solution has an SPF 25 to protect against harmful UVA/UVB rays and also has calming peptides to relax lines and wrinkles. The Night Solution is a delivery system of encapsulated vitamins and antioxidants combined with collagen-enhancing peptides that refresh and replenish your skin while you sleep. The third step in the Miracle Set is an Oil free moisturizer that helps reduce the appearance of fine lines and helps absorb and control oil while providing essential hydration and special ingredients to give the skin a silky feel. The last step is a fantastic oil free foundation (your color choice) The silky-smooth formula controls excess oil for at least eight hours and evens skin tone. Foundation is often confused as being part of your make-up routine when in truth it is or at least it should be part of your skin care. Foundation should disappear on your face, but serves the purpose of protecting your skin from all the nasty harmful things that move around in the air. Think of a car windshield after a long drive. Its covered with grime, dirt, and even bugs. This same process happens to your face everyday. Only slower. Foundation is your shield.
Basically, all of this means one thing. It is more important for people with oily skin to stick to a full skin care regimen because of the oil. It needs to be controlled, but it can be easy.
Mary Kay's Miracle Set for Combination to Oily skin types will control your oil, while giving you over all beautiful skin AND gives you a fantastic moisturizer that will be a life saver through drying winter months.

How come lighter skinned african americans tend to be more successful then darker skinned ones?
What? Are you living in reality or your own little alternate universe, because I see a variety of colors making money these days. If you mean in terms of celebrities, that may be a result of irrational prejudice, but many celebrities are that sort of medium brown tone and not technically light, so I still don't see where you're coming from.
How come lighter skinned african americans tend to be more successful then darker skinned ones?
They don't.
Reply:That is really silly.
Reply:All the black billionaires are dark skinned.
Reply:My god, what crackpipe have you been smoking? Thats like the dumbest question i've heard by far.
How come lighter skinned white people tend to be more successful than white people with tans? See how dum that sounded... think about it.
Get a life.
Reply:Haven't noticed. You must be lying. Go to bed troll.
Reply:I am African American. I only like to speak from factual information. So,I do not know if light skinned African Americans are more successful or not. What I do know, and what has always been historically true, that light skin,or more white looking African Americans have always been, and still are more accepted by the predominate white culture. Thus light skin blacks were always treated better,by blacks. During slavery the light skin blacks got to live and work in the "big house," while the darker slaves worked the fields. In more recent times, light skin blacks got the breaks before dark skin blacks. It is no accident for those of you who know her, that Lena Horne was the first black to be cast in Hollywood. No discredit,to the talented and great Ms. Horne, but I do believe if she was a darker hue,Hollywood would not have had anything to do with her.

What is the best "normal" shampoo for sensitive skin?
I have used medicated shampoos in the past (i.e. T-Gel). I am looking for something more mainstream, that doesn't smell bad but works great for sensitive skin. My hair tends to get oily.
What is the best "normal" shampoo for sensitive skin?
Purology moisturizing shampoo is great.. Use only a little in that it is super concentrated. T-Gel shampoo will make your scalp problems worse.

The skin of my nipples tends to point out, is there something like a cream of some sort to make the skin hard?
I made 15 years old male, I have the type of nipples that if you just barely even put your finger on them they won't even point out, it is just the skin! but I have noticed whenever they get hard, they look perfect.. such as when I am cold
I usually wear a tight undershirt just to make it look like I don't have man boobs and its annoying, I even tryed super-glue, that actually worked but unfortunately wayy too painful
